like I've said countless times. Lin doesn't care about basketball. He only cares about getting laid

How many would actually pick the former over the latter? If not they'd be signing 10 day contracts.

So when clutch initially says it he basically committed murder. Now it's to the point nobody would even bother debating the matter.

Yup. Like it should've been the very moment the thread was created.

This debate was over a long time ago - Beverly is a better fit with the starters and he is far more mentally tough.

What you don't understand is...this is the NBA. Players can put up numbers in the regular season. In summer camp situations. Players get hot. It's really the consistency and ability to adjust your game to different situations that guarantee your spot in this league., or allow you to compete in high pressure games. Don't keep dreaming about isolated moments because the creme always rises to the top. Lin would be effective he had more hesitation and a feel for the court, what less athletic PG's ike Nash, Paul etc. do, but he kind of plays illiterate and scouts figured he went to harvard so he'd be smart.

well, i got news for you. Reading a book doesn't do **** for winning games on court. it's pro sports and lin is who we thought he was.

Clutch needs to write another piece to jinx Lin into something good again.

The mojo of this thread is wearing off.

I think this initially started with Clutch basically making this statement in a radio show.

    The second he did.

    Oh boy.

    That thread went bonkers.

It was also the first time I saw Clutch in a thread trying to defend himself. Credit to him for having the balls to write this afterwards, but it is his site, his opinions, and he is free to do as he chooses and in this instance he was spot on.

The starting unit was impressive tonight. PatBev was great and seems to be getting better game by game.

True Rockets fans need to stop whining about Lin, y'all are gonna have to deal with him for the duration of his contract; that $15mil anchor is probably not movable.

Bev was great tonight, not so much the 2 before this though - so maybe not quite game by game but he is improving for sure.

$12,000,000 .... They will toss in the whole $3,000,000 allowed under the rules... Only $8,000,000 will be against the cap.

Can you elaborate, I'm confused/ignorant. Are you saying the Rockets can offer to pay $3mil of the $15mil owed to Lin in a trade?l

Yeah, my point is, regardless of whether you're a LOF or LOH, that $15mil anchor is going to be hard to move.

Every calendar year a team can include up to $3,000,000 in cash in a trade. The Rockets has already used some of that money in the White trade this year so they could offer less. By next year they can offer up to $3,000,000 again and likely will in a trade of Asik or Lin.

So you are really looking at $12,000,000 out of pocket and a cap hit of $8,000,000.

Thanks. $12mil is still a lot, even if the cap hit is only $8mil. I'd be shocked if any GM would be willing to pay that much for Lin. What team wants or needs Lin for $12mil for a single season?

Lakers have the cap room for both Lin & Asik.

They need to showcase their team to Love without taking on contracts that would eat into their 2015 cap.

If they somehow get unlucky and land a low lottery pick, ie a pick they would trade. They become the perfect trade partners.
