I'd take a seasoned NBA expert's analysis on Bev's D over yours any day

Beverley is an elite defender - JEFF VAN GUNDY

Beverley is not good at guarding opponent shooter.

Had a chance to win, Parsons ****ed up.

We had two great chances to win this game and gave it away. Very frustrating.

James Harden single handedly almost won this game for us. Props to him.

yep, Harden was massive. Parsons got too excited and barely elevated on that dunk.

The numbers are clear: Jeremy Lin is a much better player than Patrick Beverley and should be starting.

Though the case is pretty clear regarding offensive skills, a strong case can be made on the defensive side of the ball. Defensively, Lin has simply been better in head to head match ups against top guards. Whether its Parker, Conley, Isaiah Thomas, Ty Lawson, Steph Curry, and others, Lin has had strong games on the defensive side of the ball, while being able to hold his own offensively. He is capable.

Tonight's game against Golden St. is what the playoffs will be like. You need playmakers and Lin is a playmaker. What the Rockets ought to be using the regular season for is to train and coach up Lin to play alongside Harden and Howard and become that 2nd playmaker....the Joe Dumars of this team. You can't achieve that result effectively by playing him off the bench with the second unit.

The Rockets can beat bad or tired teams Beverley as starting PG but you can't go up against playoff teams who have strong guards with just a 'pest' at the point. The perceived defensive 'gap' between Beverley and Lin is illusory. It isn't backed up by the data.

Probably should've used his superior agility over O'neal and went for a reverse.

Oh well. Just one of those games. It took a back to back situation and one-sided referees to lose to the Warriors in overtime. Very confident we will beat them in a 7 game series.

The Rockets lost every game in the playoffs last year when Lin played. LOL!

You're right, we can only beat teams like the Spurs, Blazers, and Warriors when Beverley starts -- definitely not good enough.

Wish we had traded Bev's scrub ass by the deadline. Lin's too for that matter. Brooks was the one to keep.

This is what I dont get. Parsons is a great role player. But the comparisons to Hayward imo are slightly off, one is the 1st option and the other is a 3rd option.

Parsons imo would absolutely struggle as the number one option. There's a reason we need one of Lin or Harden on the floor at all times.

But when you have the opportunity to snag one of the fiercest competitors in Rondo who has put in some of the greatest playoff performances in recent memory, and curtail whatever issues we have with our current PG duo who quite frankly have too many holes in their game for my liking, it absolutely baffles me with that despite this tired, drawn out disdain for Lin, almost 2/3rds of CFs would rather Parsons over Rondo.

Rondo isn't that guy anymore. He's basically done as being a focal point facilitator and that torn acl was more aggravating than ever. Lin/Asik for Rondo and others would have been the best trade for the Rox. Parsons is still an up and rising star and without him Harden would have too much of a load out there. In this league it's guy that are 6'8 + on the perimeter with game that help stretch out the floor like no other. Harden's game would suffer without Parsons as he can't ever take it easy once in awhile.
