[ClutchFans] The Jeremy Lin-Carmelo Anthony jersey controversy is ridiculously overblown

PER is the result of the coaching.

Bottom line, the 2005 Rockets squad is much less talented than the Mavs squad, without home court advantage, and heavy underdog. On the other hand, the 2014 Rockets squad is more talented than the Blazers, is favored, and has home court advantage.

Bottom line, Sura, Wesley, Bowen would not start in any other team. Parson, Beverley, Jones, Asik, and Lin would start in most teams.

 

This might be very old news but did you guys heard Lowry signed with Raptors?
Well, **** has hit the ceiling. Lowry tweeted the Jersey issue (in a funny way) afterwards.

You can all argue how Lin is a scrub, overpaid guy who knows he's going out the door, but truth of the matter is, this is a PR disaster and Rockets is the one to blame and not Lin.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry over this fiasco.And the articles and commentary have not stop popping out of the internet guys. And you don't have to guess hard which side they are taking.

Also, Jersey is such an important symbol in the NBA.

How can anyone mistake its value to a player? Besides a ring and a trophy, every basketball player takes pride in having his own jersey number.

Minus a ring and a trophy and whatnot, you have your jersey number as your identity.

And you are telling me that the Rockets Photoshop a player using it, and what's worst, it was done in secret, and then let it be plastered on Toyota Center for the whole world to see and take a picture, and you expect the player who uses it to be a good christian and not react?

Haha, that is such an insensitive thinking, and why people would not shut up about it now.

Bet ya every RA out there knew this happen and is mulling twice about it. Hope Morey's money can sway these significant players to come over our team now.

I want to give a time out to that person who sanctioned that damnable poster. And Carmelo might not even come here anymore! You did the whole shebang for nothing and now it has backfired. Don't even tell me all of this happening right now is okay, because it totally is not.

Oh, you think Harden would have higher PER under JVG and Yao would have lower PER under McHale. Still not convinced.

Beverley, Asik and Lin were not starters when they came here. You don't attribute their upgrade to coaching of course, unless it were JVG coaching them.

Wesley was a starter when he came.

Parsons and Jones have developed nicely. Again, you won't credit coaching, unless it was someone else coaching them.

In short, if players get better under McHale, you think it's despite him. If players are good under JVG, you think it's because of him.

If anyone wants to get a ton of rep from lof and receive an ego boost from being thanked for a great post then do the following:

1) write a gigantic wall of text half the people don't read
2) be sure to falliciously equate the jersey thing to situations of the average joe in the work place
3) whine about Lin some more
4) cite the spurs success for who knows what reason
5) conclude that the Rockets organization has screwed Lin in a deceitful way

If you want bonus rep from self loathing Rockets fans:

-find a way to insult Morey multiple times.

 

Don't forget to say that the jersey incident has forever destroyed our chances at getting a top free agent

This and it's not even top free agents. The reason any FA that we are rumored to be after that then decides not to sign here will be further proof that the jersey thing really tarnished our name.

 

I really like Lin, he is easy to cheer for, but his fans are some of the worst whiny babies on the planet - Jeremy never makes excuses, not sure why they do.... I just want this over with, and if he is traded, his fans can go ASAP.
