Hats off to the video maker; that highlights clip is perfectly edited for sound: Only Tirico's enthusiasm is heard during the middle and end of the run, and no Jon Barry

No baby sitting brewer or terry or josh when they had a bad game.

None of these guys narcissistic enough to post videos of them "training" in the off season. No proverbs shoved down our throats when a kid is mad.

We just got men not boys.

That's true. I hope Harden could've been part of that, just running and straight up attacking, hustling and just give it your all. This is no bash on Harden, since he did it in Game 5 with the flu (though people will always use MJ's flu game as a measuring stick when they don't want to give guys credit), but just would've been nice to shut up critics of our only 25 year old star! We have to remember, while Olajuwon was always good, it took him until 92-93 when he really started to trust his teammates and win big which is when he was 29-30!

Great column, Clutch. Here's part of what I posted a while ago in the game thread:

My mind is blown. A great game. A classic that will live forever in the annals of Rocket history. The young cats can quit feeling like they missed out on some tremendous moments back before the championships. Sure, they did, but last night ranks right up there with the great games of the '80's, the great games of Rockets history. Didn't see Sampson make The Shot to eliminate the defending champion Lakers in '86? You now have last night. Balls to the wall, facing the end of their season, behind by 19 late in the 3rd, an unlikely collection of Rockets rose up and didn't just beat the Clippers, they stole their souls.

    This is great

My wife will wake up soon and I’ll have to deliver the bad news — the vacation plans are on hold. There will be a Game 7 in Houston. I don’t know how that game will end, but I know what this victory means to this team, win or lose on Sunday. These Rockets were destroyed all series for being quitters. Forget that. They’ve got fight.

And to think that I ALMOST went to bed in the third quarter. But I didn't, and witnessed LIVE the greatest comeback in Rocket's history. One of the most amazing endings to an NBA game I have ever seen. I was literally in shock. I kept thinking "is this real?" And "do the Clippers have time to make up this deficit?" No they didn't. Just think about it? Nineteen down to fourteen up. The probabilities of that are near zero.

Coming back to win from a 19pt deficit is already an accomplishment but we ended up winning by 14pts. So glad I stayed up to watch the game.

Yeah...biggest part of why I liked him so much.

He cared about his teammates and his coaches. Cared about the little things that the camaraderie of the game can't be bought out or cheated.

I always thought myself that Brewer was a much better player than even HE knew coming out of college. Strangely, I got this weird "Andrew Wiggins" vibe from him...call it a bit of deja vu, maybe.

I think, again, going forward, you have to find a way to keep Brewer on the floor, no matter who he's paired with in the backcourt or frontcourt. Like Josh Smith, he can play a much better defensive game consistently than he can an offensive one...and some of his limitations offensively (mostly suspect shooting) forces more movement without the ball in order to maximize his talents.

Same thing with Josh Smith. The activity was what was key. Call it desperation...or heart...but playing the game was (and still is) always about 5, not 1. The more people involved, the better.

Game 5 vs. Utah in 1995 begs to differ on greatest comebacks. If they win Game 7 then I'm willing to say this is the greatest, but that 1995 team won the series and went on to win the championship.

    Epic comeback
    Just wooooow!!!

This one trumps Game 1 vs ORL because won handily.... 12 freakin POINTS

This win also nullifies Game 1 where CP3 didn't play.

    Finish it Sunday, playas!!!!!!

Great write up on the game Clutch. As one of the old school fans on BBS I just had a feeling the Rockets would pull this game off no matter what was going on. I don't believe in the reverse jink crap that gets push on, your a Rockets fanantic and Believe in the team no matter what. Now it will be time to shut all the doubters on Sunday!!

I was furious and sad in the 3rd qtr. How could I not be ... It was like watching the scary movie 3, and to be honest, all I was hoping is that please make it respectable, guys so we have a good story line to begin with next season.
But soon in the middle of 4th qtr, I was pumping my fists doing air jabs left and right in front of my 80 inch TV 3 feet away. When we were up by 3 after Brew's 3, I still didn't believe we would pull this one off, and thought to myself, well at least I can say I am proud of this team.
After Josh sinks that three with about 1:30 to go, it finally got to me that we actually would win this game, I was speechless, in shock, in disbelief, and ... little water droplets in my eyes

    How sweet it is!
