    "@TheRealTWill up, above the clouds
My second year in the NBA its been a real journey, but through it all its meant to be now a Houston Rocket ready to improve"

Be a damn shame if we traded him, the guy seems to have put his heart into this team already.

"The feeling I get when I make a pass for an assist is like the one you'd get if you had a baby brother and every time he tried to walk, he fell down, until one time, he finally walked and you were there to see it. That's the kind of happiness I get from seeing other guys score."

Wow. Get ready for some Ron-Ronesque quotes.

    Terrible assesment :(

JT wasnt selfish, he was a good kid who worked hard. The guy can hoop, but unfortunatley fell victim to a numbers game. I actually think he could'ved contributed more than Budinger, but that's my opinion

I'm kinda get sick of the over praising of Morey. Yes he's made a ton good small moves, but the team is still mediocore at this point. The Moneyball system hasnt proven it wins championships. Until we land a superstar (as promised), now way I'm using phrases like "In Morey we trust".

I don't think JT was selfish, and he could've very well worked his butt off all offseason. Unfortunately, the guy was unable to prove that he could score at the NBA level. He puts his head down and hopes that there is a clear lane, which isnt going to work unless you're Lebron. His athleticism allows him to be a force among those who can't keep up, but he just doesn't have the BBIQ to succeed in the pros. Hope he develops on another team though

Yeah JT would be great at a 1 on 1 or a game of 21, but the guy didn't get team basketball. I guess we'll see how good he will be in Sac.

And no kidding we haven't won championships. It's funny how that works when you lose your 2 cornerstones to injury. I get tired of all the Morey is god talk too, but his hands have been tied with the health issues of Tmac and Yao.

Yeah JT was a player that can score and beat you off the dribble, but i guess JT's game was a little too and-1 mix-tapey to adjust to this team's agenda, and overall gameplan.

What if Morey wants more then we're thinking now??? :)

Morey facilitats New Jersey acquiring Carmelo Anthony by trading the 2012 lottery protected 1st round pick for J-Will.

Denver goes into rebuilding mode with the origional K-Mart expiring this year and Billups/Nene expiring next year. K-Mart and Billups is gone, but Nene might be resigned as he is still relatively young and a good C is hard to find. Favors will grow into a PF/C (D Howard-lite), meaning Chris Andersen with 3 years remaining after this year @$4.5m (5.4pts, 5.3reb, 1.6Blks/18min) is redundant.

Rockets pick up the Birdman by trading C Bud to Nuggets for some scoring replacement for Carmelo, and JJ to New Jersey to make the numbers work (NJ picks up a versatile defender or just let the salary expire).

Rockets: Out - Bud & JJ; In - Birdman
Denver: Out - Carmelo; In - Harris, Favors, T Murphy, CBud & bunch of draft picks
New Jersey: Out: Harris, Favors, T Murphy & bunch of draft picks; In - Carmelo, JJ

Rockets also get very close to under salary cap: Out $7.6m and In: $4.5m.

Why this trade: The Birdman (Defense & rebounding/blocks) can split centre position with B Miller (offense), J Hill (two-way) at a reasonable price. We couldn't get Gortat, and I doubt we can get Haywood from Dallas. And I don't think we want to pay >$8m per year on another center when we have B Miller and J Hill.

The Knicks, missing out on Carmelo, decides it wants its 2012 1st round draft pick back in any case (so they can decide whether to go after Chris Paul or tank). We lottery-protect it and trade it back for Anthony Randolf.

But before the start of 2011-12 season, Amare blows out his knees, and thus ends Chris Paul's wishes to go to New York.

We resign AB for ~$8m and by the 2011-12 trade deadline we trade AB, Scola, the Birdman and Brad Miller (effectively an expiring), and a future 1st round pick to New Orleans for Chris Paul and Emeka Okafor.

Chris Paul / Lowry / Ish
    Martin / Lee / T-Will
    T-Will / Battier / Randolf
    Patterson / Randolf / Hayes
    Okafor / Hill

AND Yao may make a comeback :p

    Just dreaming ...

What has become of this Rockets legend. Really wish he would've panned out here.

Dumbest thing that Morey did was to give up that pick, when there was no need to do so. At least with Royce, they took a risk with his potential upside.

Yeah, this is probably Morey's worst trade to date. I too, thought Williams had a lot of potential (or that at least one of the 2009 guys would pan out). I must say it is funny to read Clutch's article about the Nets having a ton of picks and the Rockets trying to stockpile young talent.

Although, to be fair, the pick only ended up to be Shane Larkin, who lasted in the league for an even less time than Williams did. The only notable guys after him would have been Mason Plumlee and Rudy Gobert, and who knows if we would have taken either of them at the time.
