I appreciate you reading it. I'm sure that any buyout with Wall would be with him picking up next year's option, but he would have to sacrifice a good chunk of that money for it to make sense for the Rockets.
Exactly. Tough to score when the ball is turned over before it even gets to half court. And playing Wood out of position at PF with no spacing doesn't help either. He proved what he can do when he is used correctly last night against Charlotte. Trading Wood would be a huge mistake unless the return was crazy good.
I really liked what you wrote, I think drafting Pablo(Our Batman), Green(Robin) and Porter or Sengun as the 3rd star. I think Sengun is 20 points/10 rebounds/ 8 assist a game, I would love to trade Wood for Kuminga and Moody.. Also, I think Brooks is a keeper and he can win one or two 6th man awards. Maybe we could trade Garuba for Mo Bamba?? -Porter -Green -Kuminga -Pablo -Sengun Bench: Mo Bamba, Christopher, Brooks, Martin Bench
Rating young developing backcourts 20 games in to a partnership is pointless as people expect them to be Steph and Klay right from the first game they play together. Porter Jnr and Green were starting to look great together in the game Green got injured. The first quarter by Green was great, then he got hurt
Nice write up Clutch. I feel you on Wood, but it is ironic that he’s been playing well on this win streak, starting right after you wrote the article. Maybe he reads you? . Same with KPJ who has also started to play better. When it comes to Wood I agree that fit is the biggest question. I think his best years are ahead so Houston needs to get a lot if they trade for him. Agreed Green has been disappointing but the talent is there. We need to see his improvement from this year to next before we start panicking. surprised you didn’t mention our coaching situation. For me an area of concern, but something we need to better evaluate at season’s end.
Great writeup as usual. It reads like you believe the key pieces to build around are: Green & Sengun and the rest are wait and see or traded. Hard to disagree with that, for me, I think the only SURE keeper is Sengun, and Green, KPJ, Christopher, Garuba, Wood, Tate, Brooks, Mathews etc...are all wait and see...though Brooks and Mathews are rising fast.... DD
The only players I don't like on this team is House. Theis, Wall and Gordon I hope all go to playoff teams and help their cause.
Sengun is an anomaly. Do not expect drafting immediate impact rooks every draft. Especially at 4 and 5, positions which traditionally take longer to develop.
I think we would if we could, @D-rock, but the League, unfortunately, has a $5,785,000 cash limit on the amount that can be included in trades. That's for this season. Heck, that's up from where if was a few seasons ago. I thought it was between $3-4 million until I looked it up.
Jaden Ivey PnR with Wood might just be unstoppable. And his mad dog defense would fit in next to either Green or Porter.
I'll also be shocked if he's willing to. Depends on how badly he wants to play, I guess. Sounds like Stone might be willing to dispense with the original agreement we're all familiar with, which amounts to Wall sitting without complaint while we attempt to find a deal that moves him.
