How? He was the one who lost the game for the Rockets last time they played...taking all those wide open 3's in the last 2 minutes of the game being up by 7 and taking no more than 8 seconds off the shot clock

I'm going to go watch that 4th quarter again

Oh sheezy!!! About time Rafer got injured. I'm ready to see Francis start. Hopefully he doesn't stink it up.

something is definitely up, rafer looked fine in the previous game.

maybe that's why TMac is playing crappy when Rafer is out, he knows they are shopping rafer and he wants to send a message to Morey/Adelman that the offense won't look good without rafer.

I think that's a pretty big reach. It's much more likely just a legitimate injury. He probably aggravated somehow either in the last game or since.

    My own two cents:
I think it's generally silly when fans think they know better than coaches, but it's even worse when they hope for injuries to limit the coach's options.

I wouldn't be shocked if this is a "phantom injury" prior to a trade. Rafer looked pretty good last game, playing 35 minutes and shooting 50%, with 6 dimes and only one turnover. He didn't appear to me to be favoring that injury at all. Guess we'll find out. Regardless, I hope Brooks can get in for 10 minutes or so.

Everytime an NBA team calls up a player from the NBDL I always think of the coach literally calling that player.
"Hey Aaron, you busy tomorrow night? Cool. We could use ya. Oh, aiite. Then I'll see you there."

Why would you need the phantom injury? The trade restriction period for guys signed over the summer expires way before game time. If they had a trade planned, they can just announce it.

Timing is interesting, ya gotta admit. Today is the 14th and December 15th is the beginning of the trading season. Rafer has an injury and is out while Brooks is activated. Hmmmm

Are you kidding? If they are getting down to the fine details of a deal, trying to complete it, no way you hear in advance, unless someone screws up.

Hopefully Brooks is impressive in his first meaningful game, but those dallas guards are most likely goin to abuse him, but hopefully he can do a good job of keepin harris in front of him.

Still, no need to make up phantom injury this early. Plenty of inuries get announced at game time. If they are getting down to fine details, you don't do anything... if it happens, announce it. If it doesn't happen yet at game time... hold Rafer out at that time. If you really think you need Brooks on the roster just in case, deactivate Snyder or landry cuz they never play anyway. This does not look like a phantom injury.

Also, I doubt Adelman, Morey, or anyone else right now trusts Steve and Mike to handle the job, not after what they showed so far.

Rockets are not getting rid of Alston unless they are getting another PG in return.

I wanna see Aaron get a lot of minute against a contender team.

I want to see how he react, how his defense is...

This is going to be really interesting!

I don't like the idea of Rafer being out but this should be interesting.

PG for a PG trade? Could happen. Lets look at the available PG's that match Rafer's earnings. About $5,000,000 US

    East
    Kyle Korver Philadelphia
    Jason Kapono Toronto
    Ben Gordon Chicago
    Aleksander Pavlovich Cleveland
    Damon Jones Cleveland
    Desmond Mason Milwaukee
    Speedy Claxton Atlanta
    Adam Morrison Charlotte
    Raymond Felton Charlotte
    Antonio Daniels Washington

    West
    Trenton Hassell Dallas
    Damon Stoudamire Memphis
    Chris Paul New Orleans
    Morris Peterson New Orleans
    Troy Hudson Minneapolis
    Earl Watson Seattle
    Deron Williams Utah
    Shawn Livingston San Diego
    Derek Fisher Los Angeles
    Raja Bell Phoenix
    Marcus Banks Phoenix

Ya know what? Looking at this list of Salary for Salary guards, I think we paid Rafer too much money. If we ever made a trade for Rafer it would have to be an East Coast team that doesn't like their pt guard or needs an extra player thrown in. Frankly I don't see any guards from the East we would likely be able to get that would improve us that much. Maybe Speedy Claxton or Desmond Mason. Not a huge upgrade over Rafer. I think we'd definately have to throw another player in to sweeten the pot.

Western teams wouldn't want to trade with us so much.
