I agree. I once thought Love was a legit possibility because I only counted on contenders bidding for his services. But if teams like Boston with lottery picks are entering the equation, the Rockets have no chance.

No shot at Love. Someone is going to give up a really rich package for him, and no combination of scraps we could assemble will measure up.

I've said it all along. 1. Celts can't put all their picks on the table for Love. They've got to hold back at least 2 picks to be able to trade away Wallace and Jeff Green so they can create cap for a third superstar. 2. Celts can't take back any long-term salary (Martin or to help Minnesota have the cap space to attract a free agent like Pau and the cap space to sign Marc Gasol next season.

Agreed. I figured the plan was always to go after Love in 2015, either at the trade deadline or during the offseason. But if he's gonna be moved now, the Rockets don't have the assets to compete with other teams out there. Unless Love went to Flip Saunders and told him in no uncertain terms that he wouldn't sign an extension with any other team but us, this ain't gonna happen. And BTW, I sincerely hope that McHale wasn't brought back just to recruit Love. Cuz if he's traded to another team within the next few weeks, we'll be stuck with a lousy head coach and nothing to show for it.
Notice Clutch's Love picture has Dwight in the background but not that other dude. I would not take any Love trade rumors at face value. Teams tend to posture through the media rather than reveal how they really think.
