Assuming Kyrie actually plays all the games next season, no sure thing, losing him and leaving Simmons, yet another major talent who's availability is in question, if for different reasons, could leave Kevin Durant, one of the best players in the league, perhaps the best if healthy, wondering if he should force his way out of Brooklyn so he can compete for another ring. Can't say I would blame him. The Nets have become a bizarre merry-go-round. They should be contending, yet one thing after another has put them behind the 8-Ball.

If worst comes to worst, they could move Durant for a king's ransom, restoke their picks big time, and go into a rebuild. Meanwhile, the future picks we hold of Brooklyn's skyrocket in value. Gotta say I love that idea, even if I feel a little bit sorry for Kevin Durant. Not a lot, but a little. ;-)

I think the nets will have a good season
    but
ultimately fail in the playoffs again

At which point . .. Kyrie will DEMAND the supermax or some such
and IMO I think he leaves either way

I love the character part about Jabari. I've been big on advocating seriously considering character and work ethic in choosing a player.

    See my sig:
Character and intelligence are the most underrated talents in the NBA.
    Energy is a talent too.

Is it weird that before I go to sleep I think about how dangerous a Jalen Green/Jabari Smith Jr pick and pop is going to be?
