Two first round picks are better than one. Two is more than one.

I'm no math major but I can confirm. The math checks out here.

Great podcast guys! In a frustrating season with a lot of confusion, its oddly comforting to hear from Rockets fans that pretty much...feel the same way I do. We are all in it together.

    Bima,

How likely is it that the cap will go down in a few years (after it goes up the next 2 years)? You mentioned it in the podcast, saying that would make a huge contract for Ryan Anderson look terrible. I've always just assumed that the cap will get bigger and bigger.

As of last July, projections for the salary cap were:

    2016-17: $89 million
    2017-18: $108 million
    2018-19: $100 million

So right there, revenues are expected to go down between 2017-18 and 2018-19.

Also, the next CBA (to be negotiated in 2017) might impose new restrictions on player salaries. We just don't know.

LOLs at Clutch and BimaThug talking about harmless injuries to Drummond.

Maybe Drummond can catch one of TJones' odd, but harmless injuries.

I'm thinking chicken pox, followed by a bad case of poison ivy.

DaDakota, your posts would better serve a toilet until you are cooled off.

Yep, I've run several computer simulations using an adv analytics engine built by MIT, and I can confirm the computer says two, undersized PFs is better than one.

It's no use. DD is on his period again, and has chosen his target and stance of the month. He'll be posting the same re-hashed comment repeatedly in damn near every thread for a while.

List of Rockets as good as gone next year:
    Jones
    Howard
    Lawson
    Smith
    Terry

    That leaves:
    Harden
    Beverley
    Ariza
    Harrell
    Capela
    Dekker
    Brewer
    McDaniels

    Major needs:
Replacement for Howard as a 2nd Superstar
3rd superstar for a "Big Three"
    Power Forward
Point Guard Upgrade / 2nd playmaker (still...)
    Center
    Bench, Veteran Leadership

    What we do this offseason:
Durant - Longshot, but we will try. If we get Durant, Ariza is as good as gone I would think. I mean...Durant has Beard as a possible lure, and he played ball at Texas so maybe Longhorn mafia might be another lure. And he did say "THIS IS MY HOUSE!" in the Toyota Center right?
    Lebron ain't moving.
Andre Drummond could be our next big in the "legacy of bigs." I could see us filling the hole Dwight left with Drummond.
DeMar DeRozan won't happen because he is a marquee SG which we have.
    Bradley Beal, same as DeRozan

Power Forwards that have Morey written all over them - Ryan Anderson, Pau Gasol, and maybe Al Horford

Brandon Jennings as an upgrade to Beverley? Achilles is still not healed 100%.
Rondo - pass, Deron Williams, pass. I bet we sign & trade for a PG.

I don't know what makes sense and where to begin. It's going to be a mess divorcing your superstar duo, trying to make a new superstar duo or big 3, then fill the new holes plus the old holes you still didn't fill like how Lawson didn't work out, or the TJ/DMo duo never panned out to hold their own.

And Fran is a Weirdo, but if what he said is true...that Harden wanted the Rockets to trade Howard after he went 26pts 14 boards and 3 blocks in the Blazers series, then I have a major issue with that. Harden has lost a lot of luster in my eyes due to all the crap this year. I ferociously defended him at times last year regarding his defense...regarding his style of play and drawing fouls. This year has been really tough.

Don't think it is a certainty that Dwight is gone.

If there is no market for Dwight, I could see him taking a deal maybe in the 16-18 range over 4 years, which still allows us a max salary offer to someone.

That's the big question, and we'll just have to wait and see. This past week would lead us to believe there isn't a market for him, but so many teams are going to be so flush with cash that I wouldn't be shocked if someone through a bunch of money at him. Especially on a shorter deal. 2 years, $50 million or something crazy like that.

We need 3 point shooters. If this team or "offensive philosophy" is to continue into next season we need 3 point shooters. Not 3 point chuckers or jackers but legitimate 3 point shooters.

Nah- I am done - no change in my thinking will post in the proper threads, but not going to spam.

Make no mistake, I think this organization is rotten at the top - and will always put $$$$ ahead of winning.

And that sickens me as a fan.

Wonder what Morey thinks is undersized for power forward? 6" 2" 195lbs. Would love to see 6" 10" + 270lbs with an attitude.
