We may need to find a new spot. That court is slippery to the point that it's both dangerous and impossible to play at full speed.

I'd love to be able to get into the gym that TheyCallmeExMan suggested, but I don't like the idea of having to "sneak" in. Some people (myself included) live on the outskirts of town and have to drive a long way to these pick up games. If we got turned away or kicked out, it would suck just a little bit.

So, if anybody has suggestions let's hear 'em.

I thought somebody was gonna bring a broom, no? Did you guys sweep the place up? I kinda like that court.. it's almost always empty and there are those mini rims. I think most outdoor courts are slippery. The courts near my place (UH) is just like this one.

Its been pretty bad the last couple weeks. It didn't seem quite as bad before that. Macalu bought a broom but it didn't really help anything.

I think i have now injured every part of my body on that court, but I can't really attribute that to the slippery conditions.

    here are a couple:

Brookline Park - Southeast Houston, inside the loop
    link
this is where i grew up playing. the floor isn't slippery at all unless it's wet. there are 6 goals. you could run a real full court or run two short full courts side by side. the rims are all regulation. although there's a cover, it's basically useless when it rains. there are major leaks in it.

Spotts Park - Memorial and Heights
    link
i've played here a few times. it's a great area, but i'm not a fan of their double rims. i don't remember it being too slippery.

So what's the situation for this Saturday? The weather is supposed to be nice ----> 61 degrees, 10% rain, with negligible wind.

Do we need to find a new spot?

I won't be out there this Saturday. Out of town. But I should be able to get back in the rotation the following weekend.
