i thought his truck got broken in to while it was parked at the front, not the parking garage. it really dosnt matter because i thought the same thing about it being more likely for someone to break in, under "cover" in the garage. if someone did it where we all park, then its likely it could happen any where withing the area. im wondering where all the baseball kids, parents are parking and if they have had problems there...

Wow. I was thinking about going there to hoop but now I might change my mind.
If I have to worry about someone breaking into my car in broad daylight while I'm trying to play basketball, it's just not worth it. The fact that it's far from where I live doesn't help either.

Well, I figure if we all just bring our stuff with us to the court in a bag or backpack or whatever and put it in plain view (on the sideline at half court maybe) then there's not much to worry about. I would think that someone is only going to take the chance of breaking into a car in broad daylight if they actually see something inside that they are targeting. For example, I really doubt anybody is going to break into my crappy car when all they see inside is some socks in the floor board and some newspaper in the back seat.

Personally I'm not overly concerned about it. I'll just continue to bring my valuables with me when I walk to the court. If someone can steal them from there, I'd be very impressed.

Less than 48 hours away, so I figure we could get a roll call going.

I'll be there, but I do have to be at something that starts at 9am and doesn't have an advertised end time. I assume it's a couple of hours, so I should be there no problem. Might bring a friend or two, or three.

Ok. This is what I propose should we get the same number of people that showed up last week... since a lot of people were left standing around or couldn't keep up with the pace of the games...

we start off running 2 separate half court games, probably 4 on 4 up to 11.

The two winning teams can then play each other full court. the people that sit out that game can play against the winning full court team.

Just a suggestion so we can make it even.

Or why not just do 2 half courts of 4-4 to 11 pts like you said. And if there are still a lot of people after that game, we can just do another 2 half courts.. winning team vs winning team and losing team vs losing team. like a playoff kinda thing.

I agree with this. Although I do like full court, I think it gets more people winded which makes them go home earlier and gets the people waiting on the side more bored which makes them go home earlier too.

The way I envision it is that we have a 4 on 4 game on either side, and if we have more than 16 players, the remaining people call next.

When a game ends (on either side) and the losing team exits, they're replaced by the team that had next. If there's another team that was waiting after them, they go in for the next loser (on either side) and so on and so forth.

Even with 20 people, the most anyone would ever be sitting out is like 10 minutes because one of the ongoing games is bound to end.

Damn if we can get 20, we can do a CF tourney or something. That would be awesome.

Also where is another place we can park? I know that last week the parking was pretty packed and I think Dave had to park somewhere else. Just in case I get there late and there isn't any parking left.

Weren't there 20 there last week? I know there were at least 7 or 8 of us waiting on the side when I got there during the full court games.

I think you can park along the street on Augusta, but I could be wrong.

You know the best way not to have to wait on the sidelines ... don't lose

I like full court as well (although I didn't do much running - but the opportunity is there). Instead of playing to 15, games could be first one to 7. Shorter games means everybody hustles on every play and shorter waits between games.

But if there are too many people, 2 sides of 4-on-4 makes a lot of sense. I like CCR's idea of cycling teams so everybody gets to play everybody else. But then again, I also liked CCR's idea of name tags.

I'm bringing name tags this time!

I agree about the not losing stuff though. Maybe I'll bring some friends this time, but then again I do want other people to play too. Decisions...decisions...

    :p

I kinda liked it the time we played there before last week. We ran full a couple of games, but only had about 12-15 people turnout and not all at once so we didn't have people sitting on the side watching. Maybe we should advertise less? :)
