Darn, I'd love to play at UH (love those glass boards in indoor courts), but I'm going out to lunch with my grandparents tomorrow. Hope you guys have fun! Don't re-injure any ankles, some of you!!! seriously, go easy on it!!

I'll be there... just me though.

I don't mind cold, Hell I've played outside in 40 degree weather... but rain is a bit of a problem.

The UH website says Guest passes can be purchased for 8 dollars a day between May 1st and Labor Day only?

    http://uh.edu/recreation/memberships/guests.html

    Guests and Visitors

All guests must have a picture ID in order to use the Campus Recreation
and Wellnesss Center. CRWC members may sponsor a guest for the day
($7.00 per visit). The sponsoring CRWC member must appear in person to
verify their agreement to sponsor and non-student members are required to
sign a UNIVERSITY OF HOUSTON RELEASE AND INDEMNIFICATION AGREEMENT.

A daily guest pass costs $7 per day. Non CRWC member eligible for this pass: UH
Faculty/Staff, and Alumni (all year long).

Weekly and Monthly passes are available as well at $25 for a week and
    $75 for a month.

A community non-member guest fee cost $8.00 per day, can be purchased between
May 1st and Labor day only.

So, anyone have experience with this?

Damn, I forgot it wasn't available all year. I've never really had to worry about it because I've either been a student or an alumn.

I still plan to be there, with any other UH students/alumn. Unless there's an alternative court somewhere...

So is it off? The guideline is kinda confusing..

    Singular

    Plural

Can one UH student/alum sponsor all the people coming?

Maybe a student can, but not an alumn. Alumni, like myself, are not CRWC members.

If it is going to be at UH, then I'm out, unfortunately. I can't justify spending $8 to play basketball for a few hours, with or without a sponsor. Next week I'll partake, weather permitting.

So.... can Yaozer sponsor all of us? I doubt it.

This really blows, I was looking forward to playing but I don't think I'm gonna drive all the way out to UH just to not be able to play. If we're allowed to get in, then I'll show up.

every time we've had a bball get together at teh UH Rec, it's always been in the summer. i guess they don't want the REC overcrowded when students are there in the fall and summer.

oh yea, no one student can sponsor more than one guest.

Yeah I guess the only way any of us who aren't a student/alum can play is if we get someone to let us in. Is there any way we could play at a YMCA or something?

I just called UH rec and the guy said there's really no limit to how many a student can sponsor as long as they got the $$$. Today's hours are noon-8.

But it looks like everyone's already backed out :(

I still wanna dunk at the outdoor ymca court.
