    Dave,

You missed my point it was not that teams like the Knicks would want him but rather contenders, - teams trying to get over the top.

Which is what Nuno mentioned...teams trying to get over the top will not be able to give up assets that are worth his contract, for that reason alone he is limited as a contract only type of player....

The fact that his contract is expiring means that he would only be a rental, clearly the Knicks would want him but they are not going to be a team that is trying to get over the top.

I hope that clears up my point.

I get ya, but the point that he is expiring means that any team would be leveraging their future for a half year rental.

Since Tracy's contract is coming up, even if a team wants him, they can't be sure that he stays....therefore I don't think anyone would be willing to take that chance.

If he plays well, he is still an expiring contract - nothing more because he can still up and leave.

You are right that he can't hurt his value, but he can hurt the team's chemistry and our young guys development.

In addition, any team would have to give up $23 million for a guy that might just bail.

Anyway, I get what you are saying.

I just think that no team would take him on for his bird rights, because Tracy has all the leverage after his contract is up.

Thank you again. Btw it is interesting. Martin goes out and Kings win like 4 games in a rown (even @ Utah). That tells something.

But I agree. He is very efficient player, great scorer and he is young. But will he fit in? In my opinion not at all. People are complaining about McGrady, that he is not a team player. With Martin I'd expect something worse. He just isn't a 'team-player' in my book, and I guess that's what people want.

    No layups back. Good news.
