NO way this deal goes down. I love Scola, and honestly think he is a better player than Mike Miller or anyone on the Grizzlies even Gay. Scola brings it every night, his shot might not always fall or his layups but he bust his ass harder than 99% of this league every night.

I never really thought Miller would be the perfect solution anyways. I still believe we need someone highly athletic and long. Maggette, Artest maybe a Travis Outlaw...ah im dreaming.

Maybe they might want Scola to be their starting C? IIRC they went after Varejao last summer to fill in as their C.

It's too steep a price to pay...especially considering there really is no starting spot for him...unless you bench Shane.

I'll probably get blasted but I'd rather see the Rockets trade for Cuttino Mobley. He can score and defend his position well. He's a lefty who defends Ginobli well. He's an upgrade over Luther.

how about scola and filler for Mike Miller and Kyle Lowry (isn't he the kid that was drafted with rudy gay; I think that dude has quicks and can play?)?

All of a sudden, our front court is weaker but our back court and swing positions are set. . . and we use the MLE to shore up PF?

Luther & Landry for Miller.....I would rather do this than give up Scola.

Just for fun, would anyone do Scola for Rudy Gay?

And I wanted Garrnett for Deke. That doesn't mean it makes sense!

I thought the same thing, but Scola is an absolute bargain for his contract. He makes roughly $3 million a season while arguably inferior bigs like Milicic ($7 million), Etan Thomas ($7 million) and Varejao ($6 million) show what his market value could be if he were a free agent. Scola is just a great value -- if the Rockets actually did shop him (which I doubt), they could probably sit at a lot of tables (about bigger name players) for discussions.

I don't think there's any way they would deal him for Miller.

If Sterling goes into his salary dumping mode I wouldn't mind Jackson plus Head/future 2nd round pick for the Cat. I'm not saying he is the ideal player to have but he is better than Head. My preference would be to try and get a SG or a SG/SF in the draft though.

That Mike Miller was Tmac's partner in Magic's dark era, wasn't he?
Please don't make this trade happen.

Nope, no one of the Grizz is worth the price of Scola.

How are you going to do that if Landry takes a part of that? Do you think another PF is going to take that little an amount?Even the entire MLE isn't likely to get us another PF. Deals like Luis for VSpan don't happen every time either. It's obvious Landry/Hayes isn't going to be enough to get the job done.

You guys miss the total irony of trading SF3 back to the Grizzlies for his last year. The Grizzlies get the last laugh.

    Incoming Players
    Mike Miller
    6-8 SG from Florida
    16.4 ppg, 6.6 rpg, 3.4 apg in 35.1 minutes

    Outgoing Players
    Bobby Jackson
    6-1 PG from Minnesota
    7.1 ppg, 2.3 rpg, 1.6 apg in 19.0 minutes
    Steve Francis
6-3 PG / SG from Maryland
    5.5 ppg, 2.3 rpg, 3.0 apg in 19.9 minutes

(not that they'd ever do that)

    That makes sense.

Can you imagine how pissed Spurs fans would be if we turned around and used Scola as the centerpiece in a deal that brought us in a third star? :D

Memphis finally realized they were r****ded for trading Gasol...too bad they just traded their franchise player for nothing before realizing it wasn't a good move.
