If the Queens trade Mike BABY, they may want Rafer, maybe for Artest, remember he'll be free next year, you don't want lost him for nothing.

okay i liked steve francis when he was with the rockets, but now that we have a new system, a system thats going to be quick offense and lots of passing, i don't see steve fitting in. I who here remembers when steve would run a fast break when he was a rocket only to end up with a contested and forced jumper as a result or a turnover? He's a great isoplayer and if the NBA was 1 on 1, i think he'd have a good shot at being top 15 players, but his team bball iq is just too low for the adelman offense.

Stevie coming back is like us stocking up the pantry with food to last through a war. We will be totally stocked at every position. Watch out Phoenix Suns and Spurs! Our guards will still not be as good as what the Suns bring but at least we will be competitive cause our front line will at least be equivalent.

Rockets Front Line of SF T-Mac, PF Scola Center Yao will beat down the Suns with Marion, Stoudamire, and Thomas

Suns Guards of Diaw, Barbosa, Nash, Bell, Hill, Banks

is still better than our dream lineup of

Houston Guards Alston, Brooks, Head, James, Wells, Francis

But with our Front line and this guard lineup, I think we could take on the best of the NBA including the Suns and the Spurs!!

that's exactly what you are suggesting that we give them LOL

I can imagine Geoff Petrie calling Daryl Morey: "Hey what's it gonna take to get Rafer from you?"

all of you keep calling him a dribble mania. none of you all obviously watched the ny games... when he has some one to pass to HE DOESNT DO THAT. with yao and tracy why the hell would steve dribble around? he wont. if he did he would be yelled at by tracy.

i watched some of his games with league pass.. he really looked good out there. he didnt look lke a superstar like he used to but he had a good idea of the ball and good penetration. he would drive in and dish it out. even when he was out there with marbury he looked really good. he isnt a dribble mania like you all say he is. he is going to play good if he has good people around him. think about steve dribbling up the court and just dribbing around when yao and tracy are out there. hes not gonna do that. he has a mind.

he's a great iso player???? we've never seen him on a TEAM. He had a bunch of scrubs when he was with the rockets. All he had was Yao...He had a bunch of scrubs in orlando and NY.....when have we seen him on a team with players like Yao and Mac's caliber? We dont have anyone other than McGrady who can penetrate and finish.

It's pretty cool that we have a shot.

I would hope he would have no hard feelings on being shipped for Tmac and realize that this is Yao and Tmac's team and ohh, that he can't just dribble the ball 13 million times then get a shot clock violation..........

I like his heart and explosiveness, hmmm

Apparently some Chinese journalist translated Clutch's article...

However, instead of "Steve is weighing a lot of different options," the translator misunderstood thought Morey said "Stevie has gained a lot of weight" and took that took that to be the reason why Steve is unlikely to join the Rockets.

I watched the report tonight. From what I gathered Francis is interested in Houston. Seems like 26 made a big deal out of something that was week old news.

Well I watched every Steve Franchise's games and also coined the 'Dribble Mania'. I can tell you that Steve was a terrible playmaker and he wasted valuable time because he would go for many rebounds and commence to dribble the ball down the length of the court, then, mostly look for his own shot. Steve said all the right things about his and Yao Ming's Games but on the court did only the minimum to help Yao Ming develop ! Both he and Mobley and Moochie were all experts at the art of DRIBBLE MANIA! :p

If you got the fire in your belly. If you're a true baller and the desire to win is what it's about then money doesn't matter. You do what Zo did in Miami. He takes a paycut to play on the Heat. You do what Shaq did ya take a paycut of 10.6 million so your team can bring in more talent. Francis is a competitor and if he's true to that. He's going to sign with the team that has the best chance to win a Championship and money be damned. Francis already makes plenty.

My gut tells me Francis signs with the Rockets.

C'mon the dribbling was all part of the Rudy Iso offense. Everyone did it who was capable of handling the rock.

You know, I think it's more that Adelman understands that Steve played most of his career in Houston (even though people rave about JVG's knowledge of the game, I've also found that Adelman isn't too shabby when it comes to remembering players, situations, games, etc.). And he's probably been asked this question about Francis since he is a former all-star player with connections in Houston. So, I took it more like, "Oh, yeah, I knew you'd ask about Steve because he's a former Rocket."

I almost wish Berman didn't announce this. I really do want Francis back and think he would be a good addition. But now, everyone's got their hopes up, and to be honest, I still don't think it's very likely that we're going to get Francis. Oh well, hopefully the Francis fanatics won't blame Morey if Francis isn't wearing a Rockets jersey next year.
