I doubt Hayes will be left out. Morey said they were working to keep him and he thought they were close to a deal. He also mentioned how Hayes is a restricted free agent so the Rockets only have to match the other team's offer. Unless another team makes a crazy deal for Hayes, I don't see him going anywhere.

This quote is why I don't think Morey views Steve Francis as the force of darkness that some here take him to be. He clearly recognizes SF's talent.

Besides, I think Steve Francis has pretty consistently had a high +/- and other analytic stats during his career despite the flaws in his game. So, at a couple million dollars, Morey has to be interested.

Like Morey said, you get him and then figure out what to do with the rest of them. If he is anywhere close to the same athelete he was while healthy a couple years ago, he's an upgrade over the fairly serviceable James and Alston.

Part of me recognizes the value in SF at a low cost. however, living through dribble mania is something I don't want to do again.

Besides the obvious thats what she/Cat said joke, I think you're wrong. I can't see a time he didn't fit. The question we all have to ask ourselves is did Houston get better in trading him (i.e. cutting the fat) or did they get better because T-Mac is that good. Steve knows if he comes back his role will be less of the "franchise" and more of the third option, but I don't think he wouldn't fit. Plus, we are all assuming he plays PG, maybe this will be a chance to show all those out there who believed the answer was to play Steve as a 2 guard.

Adelman can deal with arrogant cocky players, look at JWill. Plus, Steve is getting older, he may think the ring is more important that the stat. Like you said, at a low cost it isn't a bad situation to be in. Hey, maybe we could engineer the same deal we made with the Bonzinator.

I think one big factor that SF wanna come back here is because he wanted to play for Adelman. If I could remember he mentioned it in on of his interviews when he was still with the Rox...

For me, if we're gonna ship ALston and go for another PG, I'd rather go for Luke Ridnour or Bibby simply because SF and James are both SG in PG's body...

It's obvious our bench had trouble scoring last year. Steve will only help it. Steve was only taking all those shots cuz he had nobody to pass to other than Yao...

Yeah it doesn't seem like Adelman's interested or sees it as more trouble than it's worth. He probably doesn't want to deal with massaging all the egos we're amassing with James, Bonzi, and possibly Francis. From Morey's statements it looks like we made an offer, but Adelman probably wasn't too thrilled about it.

Hopefully if we get Francis, he'll know his role and accept whatever Adelman gives him.

If SF takes us, he can definitely get a shoe contract from China. Too many Chinese have a good feeling about him. He is one of the best buddies of Yao.

I was thinking about that too. I think he's still with Reebok, but I doubt he's making that much. There are definitely a lot of benefits in coming to Houston for Steve.

you often add them and then work to figure it out.

Read in the lines, we want him. If he choose us, we'll find a way to work it out. How? A possible trade, including Rafer for sure. Miami or Denver or Los angels is waiting for our trades, as simple as that.

More likely Rafer to the Heat. He's a legend over there remember? They love him in South Beach.
