    Indeed.

I think he could resist the urge...they've been doing the long-distance relationship for a while now, and still find the time to spend together in the offseason, taking in Comets games and whatnot...

Not really. MJ shoots much better and plays good defense. SF is more demanding of the ball on offense and doesn't like to play D. SF is a better finisher at the rim. SF has move overall talent. Agreed they wouldn't be a good tandem at PG.

    Just say no to SF.

Clutch, what do you think about a possible Francis signing?

I really like how straight foward Morey has been when talking about possible future roster moves.

I'd say no .... but Morey did make it sound like there were some other potential upgrades ... but also called those "longshots".

And you know this how? Heart without a brain doesn't mean much when your playing against the likes of Phoenix or San Antonio.

Does anybody actually read these days?

Morey said they're interested in Francis. The last quote from him also infers that he's not worried about chemistry, and that would be worked out one way or another after you get the talent (worse case scenario would probably be benching Francis, like what happend to Bonzi this year) In other words, Morey would get Francis if Francis decided on Houston.

The article is just Morey stating his opinion that Francis is weighing many options and he doesn't think he'll land here.

It works if Francis isn't required to be the point and comes off the bench. That way, the coach would sub Francis in when we need an offensive spark or to be a fresh body on whoever he's assigned to guard.

You're right anon3803, but my hunch (just a hunch) is that the Rockets offer is one of the lower ones, plus there are a lot of players at the position. Maybe things would change if another deal happened.

Clutch, I'm just curious if you favor a Francis signing? I know you made a Rocket profile but I'm not quite sure if that was before Mike's trade. I usually make my own judgement based a lot on your input for personnel moves. Thanks!

    here is the exact quote:

"I think we're looking to upgrade wherever we can," said Morey. "There are a few things we're still looking at that might accomplish that, but they're probably more longshots than possibilities at this point."

If there are minutes for Luther Head, then we should sign Francis and give them to him instead. If the Rockets are going to have 6'3 shooting guard, I'd rather it Francis. Luther may be a better shooter than SF, but SF does everything else better. Imagine a second unit of James/Francis/Bonzi/Hayes/Deke

Agreed. I think I made a post earlier where I only gave a 30% chance of Francis coming here, and I'd probably revise my estimate down after hearing Morey's comments.

Nevertheless, it kindof proves the point for many Francis supporters (myself included) that Rockets management agrees with us that despite questions about overdribbling, turnovers, and fitting in, Francis would be welcome here, but only at a cheap price.

So...with Morey's smoke and mirrors routine in full swing...saying there's a longshot chance of getting Francis...that means we'll be pulling some sort of crazy deal to get Cuttino Mobley back. ;)

Considering the rockets spent over half of their MLE on Scola and needing to still sign Chuck and Landry to contracts, its safe to say all the rockets are offering is the LLE, which most teams can match or exceed.
