and think about the price to get SF. If SF comes here, he comes for the love of Houston. why not give him a try?

A friend of mine that works at one of the news channels here in Houston, has a coworker who is really good friends with someone within the Rockets top brass. Anyways, I was told that the Francis deal should be done by the end of the week. Just thought I'd mention that. I know it's nothing anyone hasn't speculated, but it's good to hear from someone close to the organization.

yes if he agree's to come here for less for the "love of Houston" and to "get back where it started" than give him a shot. He can't be worse than Luther and if he is good than high risk low reward.

No way shape or form should Steve start on our team, he is just a rotation player who will get a chance to earn minutes and a place on the floor at the end of games.

Interesting. Next time you see him, ask him to see what contingencies they have in place to clear up playing time and space for SF, if any.

If SF3 does come back to H-Town it will not be for the love of the money but for the love of the city he has in his heart. I for one would like to have him back another person with passion yeah!

Don't forget his passion for late night parties...

Honestly, for the MLE or less (assuming Francis accepts such numbers) it is truly a low risk/high reward situation. If Francis doesn't fit or creates bad chemistry on/off the court, trading him with a contract in the neighborhood of $2-4 million will not be difficult to do. Several teams have already showed real interest in Steve, including the Heat, Clippers and Mavs. Despite his host of injuries last season, Francis showed real poise and unselfishness coming off the bench in NY once Isiah decided that the Marbury/Francis backcourt was not producing good results.

According to Charlie on 790 the Animal said "Steve Francis will not be with Rockets". Stated that been there done that sort of way that Steve Francis would not bring a skill that the Rockets need.

I don't see how anyone can be against this if it does indeed happen (knock on wood).

He has virtually no impact on the cap, loves the city. I've never heard of Stevie being any sort of cancer to team chemistry. In fact, the knock against Steve has been that he's had a little TOO much chemistry with his teammates. :D

He has fire and drive, can rebound, can penetrate. Are we THAT positive that Tmac's back will hold up or Bonzi's belt will hold on to be turning down scorers, which was one of the reasons the Rockets haven't made it out of the first round in a decade?

People are far too quick to write off former stars, how much would Chris Webber, who most on this board declared "done", have helped against Utah?

If you haven't heard anything then you don't spend much time listening... he skipped a game to party in another city that was hosting the Super Bowl... he is also notorious for staying out late on any given night (including the nights before games) and making partying and socializing a priority over basketball and his team.
