Sign Stevie!! Trade Rafer and someone else for Cuttino!! :)

Clips will need a point guard. And Steve will automatically become my second favorite player!

If we do sign francis I wouldn't shed a tear if Head got traded for cash. With all my years watching the NBA now I now know theres a good chance for a player to return in the future

Oh yea, we would hate to see McGrady stop taking contested threes and NOT drive to the basket

Well, even better would be to have Steve sign and then we'd trade rafer, head, sura and a first-round pick for Camby...can you imagine that? :) I know it's a pipedream, but...

Actually I'd be really pissed. We don't need Mobley. A Mobley and Francis combination will allow them to go back to the old days of Francis-Mobley basketball. With Yao and McGrady that will not work.

IF we get Francis, we should put him as backup SG and let him fight for PG minutes from James and Alston. By making him come off the bench and actually compete for his PG minutes, I think he'll do much better and actually pass more. Mobley would destroy any chance of that happening.

I dont know about you guys, but enduring the Francis/Mobley years was some of the most painful memories of Rockets basketball I can remember. I am failing to see why people are pining to get these two back. Francis, I can understand. But both of them? These are the same people complaining about having too many guards, too...

Guess I just dont get it.

I like our team the way it is right now, all the players know their role; The team knows that its Yao and Tmac's team, if we add SF or Mobley, they will want to take charge and mess up the chemistry.

How do you know Francis won't conform to Adelman's offense? He adjusted to JVG, which is more than I can say for Bonzi. Simply put, we don't know if getting Francis will be a good move, but for the cost, it's a very low risk with possible high reward. That's why we should get Francis.

While I'm not sure if I like the idea of him coming back, I do think he knows without a doubt that this is Yao and Tracy's team.

I want him back. He wasn't the greatest while he was here, and sometimes he just gave you frustration over frustration, but he was miserable elsewhere. I believe he has changed, and he will appreciate this second chance with the Rockets. I always appreciate his passion for the game. He's still an able player, and he has deep bound with the city and with Yao.

i think most of you are still thinking of steve francis in a van gundy type offense. francis in an adelman offense could be a great addition to the rockets.

Look a real competitor does whatever it takes to win. If the scoring punch is on you and coach gives you the green light, then you do whatever it takes to score. (Francis's early years) If you don't have the green light to score cause you're surrounded by a lot of other scorers, your primary goal is to get the team to win and you do what the coach tells you to do. ( Francis with Gundy, Brown, Davis, Hill, Thomas).

If the coaches make stupid calls and end up with losing teams and ask you to do stupid things, then you have the right to be disgruntled. For the record, Francis has done whatever each coach has asked him to do. If they asked him to pass off, he passed off and his scoring numbers dropped. If they tell him to stop dribbling as much, he did that too. If they tell him to play within the system and defer to other players, he did that. Unfortunately for Franchise, he ended up on sucky teams with poor upper management and even worse coaching. Long story short, Franchise's situation wasn't good. His numbers and reputation took a dive. Can he still bring it? Yes I think he can.

Adelman and Francis - Would Francis fit in the Adelman system? Why not? Francis isn't stupid. He'd adjust to play the game. He has in every other situation. He is a Marbury type player. He has a wicked crossover and he'll get the ball to the hoop. Will he start? I don't know but in a motion offense, I think Francis will do way better than he did with Orlando or NY. He'll have to do a lot of moving without the ball and he'd have a different situation than Rudy T Iso ball, or Gundy, Brown, Hill lockdown Basketball coaches who were disciplinarians. Isiah Thomas as a coach speaks for itself. He has got to be one of the worst basketball minds in the NBA and theres a good reason that Larry Bird fired him. Francis is not the first player to revolt under Hill. Penny Hardaway also led a player revolt that led to Hills first firing.

The coaches that Francis did well under were Davis and Rudy-T. They were both players coachs as is Adelman. Adelman is known for adapting to his players and using the skillsets that they bring and molding it into a very good offensive unit. I think that the greatness of Adelman's coaching is what will ultimately determine Francis's play and his legacy. I hope he does end up with the Rockets.

He had his flaws in Houston, turnovers and dribble...dribble...dribble... but even with those, Steve Francis is the best starting point guard the Rockets have had in the last 20 years (since JL3's dad started here). Adding him gives the possibility of a significant improvement at that position, and little to no downside given the salary we're talking about. I don't know how anyone can argue that we should turn that down, given the limited talent we have had at the 1 in recent years.
