    Francis Watch
Jul 18 - Point guard Steven Francis, who cleared waivers Tuesday night to become a free agent, will narrow his list of destinations from four teams to two and could sign a deal as soon as tonight, his agent said.
The Clippers, Rockets, Mavericks and Heat are all potential landing spots. Francis, who got a $30 million buyout from Portland, could go to the team that offers minutes rather than money. -- Miami Herald

Absolutely!!!! Stevie ain't comin' for a one year deal. Why saddle the rockets with a ball hog underachiever at the expense of a promising rookie. We have already potentially done that with Mike James and Bonzi, although I am inclined to give them a chance since both have played defense in the past. Francis does nothing for this team, but take up cap space and dribble.

Well, he isn't going to get much of either here. Forget this.

    1) There's a chance he could come here.

    2) We don't really need him unless we can pick up and then trade for or sign a more passing pg.

    3) He will most likely go to a team that offers more money...Miami or LA Clippers with Lakers as outside chance.

I think the real reason Francis has not been signed is because 1)They're trying to create a spot for him since the Rockets are loaded in the backcourt. 2)They want to make sure he understood that he's not an automatic starter when they signed him up.

I think Francis is an upgrade over Rafer just because he can attack the basket and he has the size to matchup against all of the guards in the NBA. Rafer is undersized and have a hard time finishing the basket when he attack.

i believe him to only because the article posted above says that francis will likely reach a deal today with one of the clubs. i think if its that quick then hes coming to houston.

Give him Luther's minutes...if we are going to have a short 2-guard, it might as well be Francis.

That would be the only way I'd want him - as a Luther replacement.

I don't know if you want a guy like that though...

Here he is not on any team yet, and he's already making demands about minutes.

Lineups change throughout the season... best players will play...

Wish he was just interested in winning...
