The (Fox News) really threw me off. I didn't realize it was (Ch. 26) or (Berman)....

I have to put my two cents in on this issue.

Those of you who doesn't think adding SF would benfit the Rox are casual BB fans with no knowledge of how BB are run and played.

If your theory on SF would be a bad chemtry addition, then why did we trade away Howard for James? Wasn't howard the best all around chemtry glue guy? The trade was done on a BB-business sense. Howard's salary and his production don't match and we needed a PG where howard was no longer the PF that we needed.

Headcase - Wells, we all knew he would be a distraction to the team even before we signed him. However, his contract and the upside was just too great, people here even voiced their opinion for adding artest. Just because adelman is the head coach that doesn't mean those headcases would disappeared. everyteam has its own headcases, some more open and some are close lit. teams have to deal with them all the time, it is part of coach's job.

I am not advocating SF is the missing link or anything. I am not his fan, but if a valuable player like SF that comes cheap and considering rox as protential home. I would add that in a heart beat. same reason why we added Wells, and made the trade for Tmac, or battier. The value exceeds it cost.

we can sort out the PT later and the lineups. SF can be our stackhouse at the 2 or 1, and provide rest to tmac when needed. deeper bench for playoffs...etc

It's funny how many myths you guys have made up about James ever since that supposed "wave off" from T-Mac 3 years ago. It's almost like you're just believing whatever you want to believe at this point.

First MJ is called a ball hog when he shoots as frequently as Rafer last season. Now he becomes a member of the dribble mania party. Keep piling it up guys.

You don't trade Mike James even if you get Francis. James is a better shooter than the other point guards.

Seriously, I don't love Mike James, but it seems that his value or his inadequacies get hyped to the moon depending on what this board wants.

When we get him his shooting is the "missing piece" and had we had him on the team last year we would have won the series. Now that he might be blocking playing time for Francis (potentially) he's a dribble maniac ball hog who only cares about getting his shots.

Heck, Steve got signed to that max contract here in Houston; the one he recently settled on a buyout.

If Francis doens't mind a little legit competition, then Houston is the place to be. Alston, James, Brooks, and Lucas; heck if that scares him, then Clipper land is the place to be.

Francis was a near max calibur player, till he was traded to New York. Isaha basically squashed the spunk out of the Spunky Francis we all remember.

Funny thing, I was listening to 610 sports radio last night. Those guy were even suggesting that Francis was never a Max player. Nor was he ever good enough to pick at the #2 spot. Ehhh, I don't remember anybody saying he wasn't a max player before he signed the deal, If I remeber correctly, everyone was worried he'd sign with Washington because his grandmother lived there. How quickly Sport radio guys forget!!!

I think it would be better to unload a couple of the guards before signing any deal with Francis to keep our leverage higher. Teams could wait us out if we had all these guards under contract and we wouldn't get the value we should out of them (Luther Head mainly)

I don't think he was ever really a super star or max player, but unfortunately teams tend to overpay their own guys who become good to keep them and show them respect. That's just business.

No way, signing SF would only take up the minutes at the off guard spot that some people wanted MJ to play with Skip at the point sporadically, depending on matchups...

Then what happens to Head, Bonzi, Snyder? This signing just wouldn't make sense, there's no way SF could back up the point either... Subbing MJ for SF?!? We need ball control, defense, passing first when MJ sits to let the rest of the team go to work...

    Yao/Deke/Butler
    Scola/Hayes/Novak
    Battier/T-Mac
    T-Mac/Bonzi/Head/Snyder
    MJ/Brooks/Head

Because of this, I say trade Skip and/or JLIII to Miami and/or Cleveland, let SF sign with the Clips, and let Brooks play!

francis was easily a top 20-30 player in his best days which would automatically make him a max player. superstar, well that's another issue.

Aftert watching it for years, I'm gonna go crazy watching Stromile's brother Steve dribbles the ball wet until it slips off of his foot, or crosses a guy over then crosses the same guy over again, or jumping in the air first then decides if he wants to shoot or pass, or letting pgs blow by him like playing defense is offensive. Methinks PG's and small foreheads are not great combination.

Funny and here I thought that it was those that think SF fits this team that were the casual BB fans with no knowledge of how BB are run and played. :p

Despite what Berman implied in his report, I don't think Morey is all that interested in Francis. I could be wrong but I don't think an offer has even been made to him.

I am WAAAAAAAAY ahead of you on that one :D

Look, he doesn't fit the current lineup as is. That being said, I love SF3 so who cares about team chemistry, BRING HIM BACK!
