With the 27th pick in 2014 NFL Draft the New Orleans Saints select Kony Ealy, Defensive End, Missouri. Mel Kiper after hearing the pick, "Ealy is the second best DE in this draft and the Saints are getting tremendous value with this pick, this was the guy that was opening up all those holes for Michael Sam." Lmfao!

With the 30th pick in the first round, the San Francisco 49ers select... Brandin Cooks, WR, Oregon State University. Team needs: CB, WR, S, C It was tough waiting, as a number of top WR and CB candidates went off the board. And knowing NE also needed a WR, I was worried Cooks would be taken as well. Strengths: Fast (4.33 40). Great field vision and fast hands. Hard worker, made major improvements and is now more than just a quick/fast receiver. Very tough for his size. Has not missed a game at any level. Also returns punts, 2013 Biletnikoff Award winner as nation's top receiver. Weaknesses: Size. But he is a tough receiver, and makes the most out of his frame. Should be a great addition and complement Crabtree and Boldin. In addition to the other WR's that went before (Lee, Beckham, Benjamin), and CBs that also went earlier(Gilbert, Verrett), the toughest decision was Kyle Fuller of VA Tech. I also have to admit I was looking at Nix as a possibility (until he was drafted earlier) and I thought a bit about Timmy Jernigan, even though DT isn't as big a need as WR and CB, both of those monsters would be a fit anywhere. Looking forward to the second round, where I have two picks.

The 49er's do need a DB. That's a hard decision but except for Arizona, the other teams in that division don't necessarily throw the ball all over the field. So I think you did right by adding an offensive weapon to help try to score against Seattle's defense.
With the 31st Pick in the ClutchFans Mock draft the Denver Broncos select Ra'shede Hagemen, DL Minnesota The Broncos continue to upgrade there defense and Hageman would be a good addition and replacement for the departed Robert Ayers, and Jermey Mincey on the D-Line. He would be a DE in the Broncos 3-4 scheme and slide to the inside next to DeMarcus Ware when they drop into the Nickle and Dime packages.

With the 32nd pick in the 2014 NFL Draft the Seattle Seahawks select Gabe Jackson, Guard, Mississippi State. Mel Kiper after hearing the pick - "Oh what a fantastic selection by the Superbowl champs, a lot of people thought they might go Wide receiver here but instead they address one of their few needs by picking up a fantastic, big, strong guard. He will fit in nicely in Seattle, and should help out Beast Mode and Russel Wilson a ton."
Now that we've got our QB we're gonna look to bolster the offensive line with one of the best prospects with the highest ceilings who we can look forward to placing at our Right Tackle postions. Cyrus Kuandijo - Tackle, Alabama Waiting patiently on remis criticizing response..
I like the pick... if Hageman would have slipped past he would have been a good pick. Maybe Jernigan too.
This is a deep draft, especially at the WR and CB positions, so drafting Fuller and getting a WR in the second round was also something I gave serious thought to, since there should be a number of good WRs in the second. I was tracking Cooks the whole draft though, as he is a game-breaker,but if he would have been picked I would have gone Fuller, since it wouldn't have made sense to reach for any other WRs in the draft. I am hoping to address more needs in round two and three, though it would be tempting to go another WR if one in particular is still there.
I'd still draft Dee Ford, and he also was a scratch (disk). Heck, I almost went with Fuller and he had the hernia last year.
