    How is that tacky?

People were quick to make assumptions and call him out as a liar. His contribution was more than generous. Props..

Done. Keep fighting Manny, you've overcome a ton already, can't stop now. I sincerely hope your recovery starts getting easier. Dead serious when I say, let me know if you need anything.

I don't think what sactown said was wrong, but I don't know his past, or his heat love.(like that matters) He has a personal interest in this issue an expressed it. At the end of the day what he said was right(and no one can argue that), albeit at a wrong time. So beyond his personal issues he felt compelled to give 120 dollars, which is more than most/any(including myself) gave to him.

Manny I don't really know you at all but I hope that you get well.
    Best Wishes.

Hang in there manny. I'm sure the road to recover will be a tough on but you've got to see it through. Good luck.

I don't know about that. It's kind of like tweaking your immune system with just a little bit of an allergen to get it going to full strength, or perhaps like using leeches in heart surgery.

I'm so late to this thread! Kind of surprised by just what a MEOWGI (but less funny) that SwolyD has become. Strange. what would Jesus post? Brah, pretty much the opposite of everything you do here, Swoly. :( Though God's son might like emoticons.

Manny, please maintain the road to recovery and dare to take a peek at this as the watershed moment of enlightenment, perspective and opportunity (?) Just take good care in any case.

Manny, as someone who's been through a car wreck (an idiot ran a red light some years back, leading to back surgery and chronic pain), you have to expect some bad days, some bad hours, and often after you've done something you didn't think would result in that outcome. Just know that it will pass. It will get better as you get your terribly injured parts stronger. "No pain, no gain" is a cliché, but often true. Hang in there. You will get better.

Ya this is what I'm thinking. That's a decent amount to give to someone you don't know. He's somewhat overreacting.

Anyway, hope Manny's recovery gets better sooner rather than later. It sounds like it hurts bad. Pop those pills and relax. Don't enjoy them too much though :p

Took a shower for the first time since the accident (with assistance). Feeling better and hoping to be off the Percocet (only taking 1 every 5 hours) by the end of this week. Thank you for your prayers and concerns and please keep praying.

I gave my condolences earlier in this thread then came back every once in a while for updates and missed out on all the self-righteousness going on by some posters.

I think it's funny that some people are preaching to Manny about how wrong his actions were. I could see if he were bragging, not remorseful or something along those lines. He did the exact opposite of that though. He admitted to what he did, admitted that it was wrong and has advised others not to do the same. Yes, it could have been worse than what it was and I'm sure Manny knows this and I'm sure it has contributed hugely to his change of heart.

This situation appears to be exactly what you want as a learning experience, something negative happens that isn't too extreme that changes the way you do something for the better. I remember one time I drove home wasted and I didn't even remember how I got home. I woke up the next morning to find my car parked in the neighbors yard. I didn't wreck or kill anybody (I found out a friend had followed me home after I refused to give up my keys) but yes I could have and it would have been much, much, much worse. Luckily it wasn't but I learned my lesson as I do not drink that heavily anymore at anytime and even if I have one drink anywhere I refuse to drive. My girl was in a wreck in a convertible and not wearing a seat belt. Luckily, she only ended up with a broken nose that could have been prevented with the use of a seat belt. Guess what she does now when she gets into a car before it is even started. Yes it could have been worse but it wasn't.

I'm sure Manny knows what he did could have been much worse times over and he has already stated his habits will change. There is no need to berate him about it because it is obvious he already knows and has learned from it.
