Hmm... I listen to audio books and lectures every single time I drive. I actually look forward to it. Fortunately tho, I don't have the volume on high and I tend to always lose my focus on the audio/lecture because I'm too concentrating on the road. Isn't that almost the same as listening to those mindless morning shows, though?

I wonder if there are any researches that compare audio books to music in relations to the safety of driving.

I don't know if I can stop texting, surfing, and calling while driving, but I promise to stop playing Tetris.

And just a quick question for all you experts out there.

What is more distracting while driving: fapping or not fapping when you really, really need to.

Fapping is easier. However that all depends on what car you're driving. I can't imagine fapping in my little small Honda where anyone passing by next to me would be able to look down and see the show.

Fapping? To hell with that noise. Getting blown by your lady while driving is a lot more distracting.

Oh, sorry, Manny! I got distracted! ;-)-

I've used my gps on the road, but have learned it's near impossible to use it while someone else is in the car.

Thanks for the precautionary tale and your honesty, Manny. Get better soon, and I hope this thread is giving you more cheers than headaches. Swoly and Sactown are gutless clowns. Entertaining children the only way they can gives them meaning. It's nothing personal.

Disagree. Just as with cellphones and passengers, the fact that there's a passenger in the car with you makes it less distracting...

Unlike the Edsel of Deckard's day that the modern day bucket seats and ergonomic steering wheels make it a lot harder to pull that off. :p

Ohhhhhh... now I see what happened. You weren't listening to music. OK.
Are you really sorry, or are you lying again?

i've noticed i tend to zone out when listening to audiobooks. then, when i'm paying attention to driving i end up having to rewind because i "missed" something. there's more control with an audiobook than listening to the morning shows.

Why would I lie? You are an obnoxious trollish SOB. Everybody here knows it and I would say 75% of this board would want u gone. But because you are a troll, we are only feeding you. So this is my last post to you. All future posts by you will be ignored.

Do you actually find it funny to joke about someone being in a car accident, or are you purposely trying to act like a jackass? But everything's okay if I use a smilie! See :p:grin::rolleyes::eek::mad:

Dude, you almost died. After that I don't think I'd go around giving my attention to people that don't deserve it. Onward and upward, yo.

Ahhh, ok, that "Sorry" was sarcasm. It seemed like a lie at the time. Don't say "sorry" when you don't feel it, otherwise people might read that as a true feeling.
No, I don't, but I was bringing up the music relevance. Now I see that music wasn't related at all.

i've had my share of surgical ICUs & the recovery/rehab that usually follow. The handful of months after the pain becomes manageable are always the same "everyday is a gift" "i'll spend more time on my boat" "i'll dedicate my life to the things that really matter" etc... & then i always revert back to my old self ("the unbearable lightness of being").

I wish i could hang on to Post-ICU-Daedalus' leitmotif.

Hey Manny - Sorry to hear this but glad you are alive to tell about it. I'll be praying for you.

I saw that your mom posted about Chattanooga time. I knew you were close by but didn't realize that close by. What hospital were/are you in? Might have to drop a get well mix-tape (that's right tape) by.

Edit: If it is a Chattanooga hospital, would you mind stating your Dr's name? (you don't have to if you don't want to). I know a few personally that work in the ER area.

Glad you are ok Manny. I probably would have seen this sooner but I've been without internet at home for about 2 weeks and only sporadically checking in on my phone. Maybe I'll post some pictures and explain why later.

Stay positive man, I know it's been a tough go lately, but things will get better and they'll be that much more appreciated after you've experienced these tough times.

You were just a mile from where I work. I know some of the ER Dr's at Erlanger but I don't know either of those 2. They've recently switched some up there.

    Get some rest...
