    true point

Both players are tru point guards that need the ball in their hands to be affective. Neither player has ever played an off the ball 2 guard. Look at Char. with Augestien and Walker.

    Not even close!

Lowry is younger, healthier, fitter, and all in all a better player right now with unlimited potential. This is the 1st year that a team has said to Lowry it's yours and he is making the most of it. Your looking at a true superstar with Lowry for a number of years. D-Will could be another Mike Bibby, just trying to stay a little healthy and cash a check in a couple years.

Nope. Deron is way too competitive to just be "cashing checks".

I dont know. He is getting older now. Why would it cost the Rockets Scola, Lowry, and a draft pick? Sort of defeats the purpose almost of getting him. Unless they feel Patterson and or Morris can fill in at Powerforward and develop like they think they can. Montajunas is also key there.

I dont think this is gonna come down to Lowry or Williams being better right now. Perception is that Willaims is a Superstar and Superstars make other Superstars gravitate towards them. Morey knows this and thats why he will make the deal if he has the opportunity! He wants Superstar players and according to the rest of the NBA, Williams is a Superstar.

DWill has been a lot more consistent and is not undersized like Lowry......now Lowry plays harder, but when the playoffs come and everyone plays harder, give me the more skilled bigger guy 100 out of 100 times.

    DWill > Lowry

    the real question is
will Lowry be a top 3 PG within the next few years?
if you can say yes, with a **** load of confidence then we keep him because i know for sure, the deron williams is a top 3 PG in the NBA right now.

I cant believe people keep bringing up Deron's age. Him and Lebron are 6 months apart, and he's younger than Dwyane Wade.

What superstars have gravitated towards Williams so far in his career?

If the Nets trade Deron, It will be the result of Dwight going to the Lakers.

What other superstars can Deron pull outside of Dwight?

You mean besides Dwight Howard desperately begging for a trade to New Jersey despite their pathetic roster and record?

Lowry for Deron Williams = Super Team. We bring DWill, the other studs will follow. I love Lowry offensively and his heart, but his talent is no where of DWill. Defensively Lowry can't stand up to the studs of the NBA, his size hurts him and his quickness is nowhere elite. DWill = chance with Dwight.

Unfortunately, Dwight's begging doesn't seem to have resulted in a whole lot of gravitation. If Lowry leads this team to the playoffs, Dwight may want to gravitate towards Houston. If that's not enough for Dwight, his lips can feel free to gravitate towards my ass cheeks.

Unfortunately, that's the probelm. The only two big names left are Deron and Dwight.

Nets won't trade Deron unless Howard is a definite goner, and Deron won't resign here unless we can get Dwight.

There's no way for it to work out.

Assume neither Deron nor Howard is traded before March 15th, and both make it to free agency with their current teams. This is being speculated now as the most likely possibility. Then Howard decides to resign with Orlando for 5 years, $100 million, which is a viable scenario. Or he decides not to opt out, and give it another year in Orlando. Then what does Deron do? Does he automatically go to Dallas to play for a gutted Mavericks team, that only features a 34 year old Dirk?

In that instance, you would have to think Houston would be a player to sign Deron. Given that we have declined all of the 09 options, and not extended Lee, we could easily maneuver to have the $16.3 million in capspace this summer to sign Deron. We would have to renounce Lee to sign him, but we would do that anyway, because we would already have two starting caliber guards in Lowry and Martin. We would add Deron to a core of Lowry, Martin, Dalembert, Parsons, Patterson, CBud, Morris, DMo, and our first round pick (from the Knicks). We would probably have to dump Scola to do this (perhaps to the Lakers for their trade exception?), but this would not be too hard. Then we could start Lowry and Deron at guard, and either bring Martin off the bench, or start him at SF. This is our most effective type lineup right now, when we go small with Lowry, Dragic and Martin.

The other option would be to dump Martin to a team with cap space, and keep Scola and Lee. Still, a great core to surround Deron, better and younger than what Dallas will have to offer.

Before you say Deron cannot play significant minutes at SG, look at his boxscore from last night, when he shot 14-28. Plus 11 assists.
