[ClutchFans] Jeremy Lin fans race to defend Jeremy Lin from Jeremy Lin

as a self-proclaimed "DOH" I really think Clutch and all of Clutchfans show extreme bias in favor of Daniels. We don't need a new thread every time he makes a three. The guy just joined the Rockets, calm down. He's not exactly the second coming of Tracy Murray after just a few games.

Fanboys of particular players have made this forum quite the adventure for the better part of a decade now.

 

One thing I regret was not getting a grassroots movement for EDOF started for Emanual Davis.

 

I guess I just don't understand how this hurts you in anyway. Even if you really like Jeremy (I'm OK with him), Clutch isn't on a personal mission against Jeremy Lin, the player. It's funny seeing all of these internet wise guys pull out every trick and the book to try and rationalize Clutch as an evil person.

It makes alot more sense (and is healthier) to be a fan of someone than be a hater of someone. I'll never understand *Anything*-Only-Haters. It's pathetic.

I've been a Rockets fan for a long time and being a Lin supporter, I find it insulting to lump all Lin fans as "LOFs". I am a basketball fan, NBA fan, Rockets fan, and a fan of many individual players. A Lin fan, yes I am. But I'm the furthest thing from a Lin ONLY FAN.

 

I will admit that it is entertaining to some degree.

 

No, it isn't.

Lin is no different than any other role player that has rolled through here. Over excitement when he does well, overly critical when he struggles. He is treated no differently.

There would be no magnifying glass on Lin if LOF didn't put it there in the first place.

Hey Clutch, that is just not fair.

 

"It's about" the backhanded compliments? What the heck is "it's"?

Is Jeremy Lin immune to backhanded compliments? No other player is.

And I'm inclined to believe that some genuine compliments were interpreted as backhanded. A lot gets lost in translation when we're only speaking in text.

Part of the problem is that Lin fans can read any given sentence and take it 100 different directions.

It will never end. I for one will enjoy this one victory.

They will defend Lin to the bitter end, no matter how foolish or insane they look.

I feel bad for Lin, sure he ****s up, but his fans are part of what is causing the immense hatred for him. Kinda like why I hate Kobe, and why LeBron's fans piss me off sometimes. There's also those in the fan base that pretty much worship their "guy" and its absolutely pathetic.

One of the issues that people are just really having enough of the LOF is this :

I understand the only player you care about is Lin, well, that's fine, but by achieving that, if you will need to attack the other players on this team, that's the f**king problem.

Take G1 & G5 as a comparison.

G1, Lin scored the most points in OT than any Rockets and Harden was playing like **** the whole game and we lost by 2. After the game, I don't mind the Harden bash as he deserved it, but claiming Lin was like single handed to keep the Rockets in the game is just laughable, he was shooting like 2-7 or 2-8 before OT and just because he scored half of his total in the OT? So what, who the f**k LOF will care, and why the f**k they even care if the Rockets win or lose.

Now we switch back to G5, Lin had a good game, and Harden still was struggled through out the game until late in the 4th Q, which he single handed score 8 points in critical time to help the Rockets get a win. So, after the game, all we are seeing here are still : Lin was god like and Harden still playing like ****. You know what : switching their stats between Harden and Lin, you will see different posts in here : Lin carried the Rockets to survive in G5 and he is so clutch.

That's the f**king problem we are having in this forum here.

Clutchfan 1 - If you think think Lin's been playing great, you're even more delusional than the regular LOF.

Clutchfan 2 - I can understand being a bit high on your player when he's actually worth a crap, but Lin?! This is why LOF's are ruining this site.

Clutchfan 3 - IB4 Torocan posts some statistics that prove this to be true, and all his LOF minions get a hardon.

Lin is over paid, especially coming off the bench, and I will be happy once Morey dumps his contract, so CF can get back to normal.

 

In all honesty, I think your experiment wasn't as clever as you thought it was. It's clearly a subjective response. Just because Lin said he did bad doesn't mean the fans can't think otherwise. Obviously there is no doubt a lot of the responses were inherently bias in his favor, but was that really what you're trying to prove? On a Rocket's fan forum?.

I've been following Rocket's basketball before Lin came into the league. The funny thing is, as an American born Asian myself, I actually hated Lin because I was jealous of his success. All the media attention, I was sick of it. But when he came to this team, he became someone I cheered for.

You would be lying to yourself if you didn't admit people here attack Lin just to provoke the emotions of "LOFs". Then when they defend him, they are labeled and ridiculed. At least they have the decency not to wish harm on other players or suggest booing a Rocket during the playoffs. IMO, your article just comes off as pretentious and petty.
