As someone who has been a member of this board for years, this board has devolved rapidly. This post is absurd and the vitriol being constantly sprayed by both sides is ridiculous. That Clutch is involved makes it even worse. The few people who attempt to have a level-headed discourse end up being drowned out by ad hominem attacks that never address the points being made by the original posters. This entire situation is pathetic.

In the first 10 pages of this thread we get:

    1. A Jurassic Park reference
    2. A member called Kwongadong surfaces
    3. A few accusations that Clutch is trying to increase traffic by doing what he did
    4. A Matrix Reloaded reference
    5. A Mean Girls reference
    6. Relatively new members trying to talk down to Clutch, the same guy that made this board and the same guy that is also (ironically) letting you lecture him like he's 12

I'd say it's been a great day on clutchfans

Maybe that's what's going on...Clutch realized this team needs some extra adversity to play their best, so he drummed up all this bad juju so the Rockets could win tonight. Well played.

Wow, this is stupid and illogical.

There is one LOF actually knows how to spell these words?

Wait .. you think before Game 5 Lin had been doing a great job of being an offensive spark?

Because if you think not, in agreement with Lin's own self assessment, then it makes no sense to argue that he was just putting himself to higher standard than the rest of us. Or perhaps you think it is a fair assessment, but the moderator should restrict himself from publicly expressing it?

    Sorry but you're wrong.

Trust me. If it were two weeks later---post-college final exams---and if it were about a month later---high school's out, too---they'd be jumping all over this thread.

They haven't gone away, they're just busier at the moment.

I said it in an earlier post. It's like arguing with drunks.

I voted "True" in your poll, but seriously...

on the eve of the biggest, most important game of the year, this is what you're concerned with? what LOFs think and believe? there's nothing more important to write about? on the eve of the biggest game, you're trolling lin fans?

First of all - don't take it so personal. and it's your site - ban them if you need to but don't categorize them as "jeremy lin fans". Jeremy has a lot of fans and you're using a very, very wide brush.

Second of all - way to create a distraction for the team on the eve of their biggest game. and yes, if other media picks this up and sensationalize it, it will become a distraction.

To have the top dog make a point like this is amazing. Every point I've ever wished for in a thread and more. I don't mean to be a kiss ass, but THANK YOU CLUTCH.

    Yes.

Yao only fans, Tracy only fans

There were no Pippen only fans.

Yeah, as someone who thinks we'd win a championship this year if we had Lowry or Dragic instead of Lin, I have no problem with criticizing Lin. But the gaping logical fallacies presented in Clutch's article are hard to swallow when the conclusion is being presented with such smugness.

Could you imagine the arguments POF would have had?

"It's not Pippen's fault he lost the ball at the end!"
    "Hakeem should have stepped up!"
    "Barkley was too fat!"

That's fair -- it's hard to prove otherwise on both our counts. But to say they are still here, just not active posters...sort of proves my point. If they aren't posting, then they aren't really presently "here", so still fighting a phantom enemy...

That being said, my real point was that the labels have got to go; they get slapped on everyone now. If someone says "Lin has sucked this whole series before Game 5" and someone responds "I disagree. Lin had a good Game 1"...people would start jumping on the second poster as a LOF. It's ridiculous and counterproductive.
