well, recent record include Dallas and San Antonio lose, and the Washington win, which is a given, :(

Dallas and San Antonio were all winnable games if he had better Q4 rotation......

You are the first person I know that ever quoted Vivian from Pretty Woman.

There is no conspiracy. McHale is not out to ruin Lin. He just doesn't trust Lin enough to play himself out of his funk.

Will McHale ever change his mind about Lin? No. He's done it twice already since he got back. History does have a way of repeating itself.

Lin knew from the very beginning of the game that with Harden on court he won't be the first option scoring, so he focused on guarding Rondo, who we all know is one of the most difficult to guard in the entire league, and is able to pull out double doubles every night even against the best PG defenders in the league.

He did a great job in limiting Rondo to only 7 assists and 8 points in the first three quarters. He even blocked two of Rondo's shots. Then he got benched after he hit his first 3 pointer, even though he had only 5 points into the game at that time.

Rondo exploded after Lin left the court, scoring 5 points and added another 4 assists in the fourth quarter.

I guest when the cameras caught him sitting and mulling, Lin was feeling very bad for losing the opportunity to continue to hinder Rondo till the end, which may very likely reduce Celtics' total points scored by ten points, which include Rondo's own scoring and those through his 4 more assists.

I felt sorry for Lin that the coaches only thought they needed TD to score a few more points and forgot the team could have a more predictable way to win by keeping up with good defense.

Offense wins games and defense wins championships. Before the Rockets properly recognize good defense performance and reward players who do that, I don't see much hope the Rockets making the playoffs.

    Reasonable.

But the KINGS example doesn't transfer here for me. Jackson was clutch for the KINGS. He came in with fresh legs at the end of the game when it was close and manage to score time and time again. The KINGS as a team were good at passing the ball, so taking out the PG and putting in the clutch shooter made sense. AND it wasn't like Bibby or Williams were benched the entire 4th quarter.

Not all the people here are mad simply because Lin got benched. But how it was done and for what reason.

I am sure Lin is much more sensible than most of us and he is willing to sacrifice for the good of the team. But he was clearly upset tonight.

You can bench him if you have a good reason to do so. Try talk to him. He surely can understand if that is reasonable. You can use him as a back-up and you don't have to play him when the game is closing out. But starting him AND benching him in the ENTIRE 4th quarter? And ditching him the "I wanted to take you back and then our back-up was so good that I changed my mind" crap? I don't know how that makes you look good?

Nice post, I agree with you on patience. The season is long if they could get to the playoffs. People need to calm down and seriously do you all think that the Roxx will win the championship any time soon?

Would have been nice if Lin were allowed to continue slowing Rondo down and snap his double-digit assists streak. Le sigh.

I doubt the coaches' capacity to sort out the situation any time soon.

Mcfail is simply a joke of coaching incompetence. I don't understand if you want to rebuild a totally new team, why not dump the most lame part.

Why are you guys getting so agnry with McHale? Don't you know this is the year we are trying to win a championship with the youngest team in the league? Forget about developing Lin, all we have to do is develop Harden and fill his stat sheets. That's the goal becuase Harden is the next MJ! What's wrong with you people??!!

McHale and Sampson trying to show the world that they were right in cutting Lin in the first place.

Mchale's rotation rely on the performance, not the players.

It can't develop another steady scoring point beside Harden.

Morey was at the game. Well, I am not so sure he would have a talk with Mchale.

I start to think if he has an agenda against Lin. It seems that every time Lin played well, he benches him.

Maybe td's defense and shooting late in games is what keeps him in the game. Why take out a guy that is hot and helping the team on both ends? I have 0 issue with the staff pulling the reins in some and letting Lin slowly come into his own since Douglas has played so well recently.

Nothing wrong with making a guy earn it. If you want those minutes back you have to go out on the court and make the coaches not want to take you out.

He's responded well so far. He's playing more within himself and picking his spots better. Sometimes you give guys more than they can chew so you have to take some back and control their dosage. Plus it makes it a lot easier to do with Douglas playing well.
