Watching tonight game, I was thinking TD play much calmer and better than Lin, but once Lin enter the game.. That's not the case, it's just Lin's playing a pace twice as fast as TD.. guess that 7 sec from Mr. Pringles never left him. His PG skills is above Harden and TD but Rockets really don't got any C or PF that had the that ability for fast pace PNR alley-oop.. watching all those Rockets games, Lin still can't really jump as that high when compare to that block he did on Rose, even the speed is not even @ 80% compare to Knicks days.. maybe his Knees will never heal.. oh well, whatever since Rockets need a SG not a PG.. TD is the man.. :)

Read this on the internet but dont know how accurate it is.

"The coaching staff of the Rockets know that they would be gone in favor of Chris Finch next season. This is pretty well known. Therefore, they are more interested in padding wins to secure their next job than player development. That's why Aldrich, Douglas, Delfino all got bunch of PT when none of them are in Rocket's long term plans.
McHale/Sampson obviously thought they can provide a better chance of winning. However, McHale sucks at judging talent, as evident from his GMing days."

If Lin plays badly, I don't mind the coach bench him, but what's the point of benching him when actually he is play solid and is hitting 50%?

Hate from the coach or failed eye test?
    Or just some hidden agenda?

i am one of biggest jlin fans out there but not sure what he can do at this point his lack of hitting shots are hurting the team.

it doesn't even matter if he is in dantoni's system or not in the NBA you have to hit open shots or it allows teams to back off and double team other players, you hit your shots then things open up inside.

many of the games the rockets lost have been very close and in many of those games lin has only scored like anywhere from 4 to 7 points with an occasion 15+ point game.

i was truly expecting him to come here and score 18 a night. if he was hitting the open shots he has he would easily do that which would allow him to drive more. not sure what is going to happen but he's had way more time to figure this out than i would give him if i were the coach. it's like he's just not comfortable playing and tense all the time.

even a point guard like rondo would not know what to do in this "offense" and basically would be useless.
I wasn't a fan of lin during the whole 'linsanity' but i've seen enough basketball to know he can play the traditional point. But ever since i heard coach sampson, weeks ago, talk down on the concept of team basketball.." why play democratic ball with a player like Harden"..I kind of knew where this was headed.

a year ago, I wanted to keep both lowry and dragic, thinking dragic could be the combo guard but everybody kept saying it wouldn't work. Two point guards that need the ball can't occupy the same space at the same time. I didn't understand why it couldn't work but now i'm seeing it not work.

Is smush parker available ? he can be labeled a pg and only shoot 3s.

Spacing. Lin's not benched because he played badly but because they needed someone to space the floor so Harden could attack the rim & play catch up. Even though Delfino was 3-11, notice how he drew defender all the way to the 3pt line? Lin has yet to commend that respect. In 3Q when Lin handled the ball, Mavs actually went into zone defense and never really bothered defending the perimeter (thus making it difficult for Lin to attack the rim).

Once Lin gets his shots back I'm sure he'll play a lot more.

Lin has always been a big game/4th quarter player.
I hope the coaching staff someday realizes that. Start
T douglas for all i care just finish it with Lin and maybe
    We'll win more games

He's such a good kid. Such a class act. I don't see why anyone would bench him.

I have an idea why you don't like Lin. It's actually related to the reason why you didn't like Battier.

Now, now. Be honest. Even without all the "LOF", you will still hate on him.

    leebigez doesn't like Christians ?

I'm really not sure what else those 2 players could have in common. They're completely different in every possible way.

Jesus Christ. You want a 24-year old who hasn't even started for a whole season to immediately start putting up Tony Parker's numbers while playing on the youngest team in the league?

So what's supposed to be Lin's statline once he hits his prime? 25 PPG and 15 APG?

    My god.

Seems to me McHale and the coaching staff is mismanaging Lin. You have to wonder why 20 games into a season you'd abandon your very expensive pg with supposed massive upside for TD. Rockets aren't a contender, they need to stick with Lin a lot longer before pulling these types of moves.

I am very suspicious of the coaching right now.

Great coaching involved exploiting your players strengths and building a system around what you have.

Not creating a system and trying to plug players into that system....unless you are talking role players. But Jeremy Lin was not here to be a role-player.

They need to build more of the offense around his talents.

Is it possible that they're "auditioning" for other teams b/c they know that they're probably going to be fired?

They certainly don't look like a coaching staff with a long-term vision. They seem to go one game at a time while running Harden into the ground.

They could make it work. We have proof that Lin and Harden can co-exist....
first game with Harden and Lin...
