Nice write-up. I'd prefer Holmgren or Smith, but I'm happy with Paolo. I also think he'll have no problem adding muscle mass (I didn't realize his Dad played college D1 football)

That’s not an official measurement, college team measurements are almost always inflated

Randle did go to the combine though, where he measured a 35.5 vertical.

Often, verticals don’t tell the full story of a players explosiveness and in game athleticism either, key example is Blake Griffin, who’s vert was measured at … 35.5 inches.

Have you watched Randle? NYK Randle? He is not Zach Randolph, he is not Luis Scola, he routinely blows by his man with powerful dunks. I’ve watched a good bit of both players and they move very similar.

There is a difference in per 36 minutes and trying to fit that with a someone playing 20 minutes. Your energy level and effectiveness are different. I'm not saying he cant get to those numbers, I'm just saying I wouldn't use those as a barometer.

That's literally what per 36 stats are, a barometer.

Paolo is the next Julius Randle and Sengun getting traded. :(

Alright, I hope OKC pulls an Ivey and we get Chet instead. Our overall team defense is just so mediocre.

This is the problem I'm having... not much emphasis placed on defense with the personnel nor the schemes. Hopefully both Green and Paolo end up being really special players because two-way guys, especially ones that can shoot long range, are so critical these days.

Paolo is like a pair of jeans. Not really the best fit, but at 3rd pick, it's the best jean available. ;)

If the Rockets offense is dynamic with Banchero on board, wouldnt their defense just need to be passable for there to still be a net positive with Paolo? If the defense is just mediocre on the perimeter and Banchero and Sengun force offensive players to go over the top wouldnt that likely be enough for a potent offensive team? Obviously in the playoffs where offenses get figured out better and gameplans take away first options a porous defense becomes an issue but the Rockets probably have at least one more offseason before needing to worry about that, right?

I think that's just more of a function of where we are in the rebuild. I would hope the Rockets would draft the best talent with the top picks and not worry about fit or our crappy defense. We won't solve our defense in one draft/one offseason and frankly we are still years away from even talking about contending in all likelihood.

Also we are the mercy of the two teams ahead of us with our top pick.

Nice write up Clutch. I still think Banchero is the best player in the draft when it's all said and done.

I think the ultimate ceiling for him is Chris Webber.

Damn Seeing these highlights, from the link video, make me think we are possible getting a Bigger Tougher version of Luka!

Just work more on that 3 pointer. Which he will of course.

    Love the Banchero option.

    Please God!!! I promise to.....

with getting The Top rookie from the 21st and 22nd back2back drafts

Chris Webber was goated but Paolo has better handles that make him an excellent secondary playmaker from anywhere in the court.

Chet has this Christian Wood habit of trying to bring the ball up full-court to only end up getting locked up due to his weak handle and average explosiveness. He gets alot of points by just standing underneath the basket or going against 6'6 center.

Jabari makes difficult contested fadeaways and lacks in all the other categories.

    What?
    This isn’t even remotely accurate.
Chet is beast in grab and go, coast to coast.
And he’s a better athlete than Paolo, average isn’t even remotely accurate.

Being a better athlete when you only weigh 190 lbs isn’t as much of an achievement or a selling point as you think it is.
