Well ouch! Part 1 talks about Howard and it's not very kind:

Four NBA trade deadline questions that need answering

    Bart Doan

It’s X-Files season for the NBA. The trade deadline is Thursday, and we’re all separated into being either the tin foil hat that wants to chase down every rumor, the realist that knows the truth is somewhere in between nothing and something, and the skeptic who wouldn’t believe the mail arrived until you smacked him upside the head with the electric bill.

Questions will be answered, even though this current season gives you the sense that know which teams will dance in the Finals, and who they probably will have to step over to get there.

    1. Can Houston get someone to buy the Dwight Howard snake oil?

Will Dwight Howard find himself on the chopping block during the NBA Trade Deadline? The Rockets are still docked from the end of last season, and it appears a genuine shake-up of NASA could be on the way before anything goes into orbit – if it ever does. It was only two offseasons ago that Howard was the prized free agent of nearly everyone’s misguided desires when he landed in Houston to build a title contender for the long haul. Now, without even speaking to the marriage counselor, the divorce lawyer is in. Howard has been a bulldozer of coaches in his last four seasons. Some will always blame him. Some never will. It’s hard to believe there are too many teams that don’t know what type of presence he is as a leader still that will take a shot at him. Hometown Atlanta might. Houston seems resolute that what they thought was gold not even three years ago was merely pyrite. If someone gets him, it will be bandied about as a major coup, because Howard is big, athletic, can dunk from anywhere, and block anyone. The truth of the matter is, Howard has been wearing out his welcome rather quickly in many towns, these days.

    <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">It's still a real possibility. As I said last week, <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Hornets?src=hash">#Hornets</a> are very interested. There is pressure on front office. <a href="https://t.co/GrWjMtdiy8">https://t.co/GrWjMtdiy8</a></p>&mdash; Spencer Percy (@QCHspencer) <a href="https://twitter.com/QCHspencer/status/699700314098761728">February 16, 2016</a></blockquote>

    Hornets interested in Dwight Howard?
Spencer Percy: Concerning Dwight Howard-#Hornets rumor, @QCHblog source tells me: “the team is definitely serious about Dwight.” Hornets would have to part ways with a future 1st-round pick to land DH, and as hellbent as MJ is on the playoffs, it’s questionable at best.

Some really intimate talk on TNT tonight w/ Dwight. If he resigns we know Harden is willing to sacrifice and work to build chemistry with his team. If Dwight leaves we'll Harden is a diva and not willing to change.

If Dwight can help Hardens character im fine with bringing him back, just not for 20 million wing wangs

Jordan can't be fooled twice on his evaluation of big men can he? The Kwame Brown stain? Does he not see Dwight has no post game and will stink it up with his athletic decline? I think MJ is a wiser owner these days.

Harden brings it every night. Howard does not. End of story.

Dwight is a perennial loser, just ask Kobe, KG and Durant about him. Ask his Orlando teammates about him. Ask Steve Nash about him.

I wouldn't go as far as to say Harden brings it every night, certainly more often than Howard last year but they both share blame.

And Howard's been further than Nash and as far as Durant, lol.

Howard checking out of games was terrible, but Harden clearly mailing it in on defense many games this season is bad too.

Here is why you keep Howard and possibly trade Harden (who, btw, is the real problem here).
Take away their scoring and what would you get?
Howard: double figure rebounding, shot blocking, overall defensive ability.
    Harden: a liability.

I actually wouldn't mind if he opted in because then it gives Morey a nice trade nugget. Which is why I think either he accepts a low low low offer from Morey to stay another 3 years at a discount, or goes elsewhere. I would hope his agent is smart enough to know that if he's opts in, he's gone and it wont necessarily be to a team he wants to go to.

Take away their defense and what do you get?

Howard: an offensive liability with no post game, no free throw skills, and declining athletic ability that he used for much of his career to score points.

Harden: an elite scorer capable of carrying the offensive load.

How are you still here? It was fun to do postbadlee puns a few years ago. Is it still fun? I guess I need to make it so.
