I think its about much more than that.

Can't say I blame the Rockets or Fox Sports, whoever is responsible.

Those skeletons will always come back to bite you. I feel bad for Murph. Hopefully he keesp involved in the community.

    :D

This is depressing news.. i was also looking forward to hearing Murphy next season.. Van was okay but not close to what Calvin brought, Drexler seems to be a slow Magic Johnson type... :( snorefest

I always wanted Clyde to get a shot at broadcasting, guy always struck me as smooth as Chinese silk. I think he will be an outstanding broadcaster. someone else had the same thought I had in picking Glide. Reading the other posters comments about him being boring may be true but he must have passed the audition so we shall see.

I guess Yaomania was right about an announcement of some sort.

I don't like this move though. Calvin was the man and he really made watching Rocket basketbal that much more enjoyable. I love Clyde but he is gonna be bbbooorrriiinnnggg, it's gonna be watching a broadcast w/ no color commentator.

I havent' read all the posts in this thread, but..

I liked Hagedorn. I wish I could show him appreciation.

And Bill with Van Chancellor is fine with me. So is Bullard with Drexler.

Why do they have different people for the road and home games? Basically, why is Matt doing road games and Clyde doing home games? Shouldn't the same people do both? What gives?

That's a bunch of bs. I knew they were going to do this and I'm not happy about it. If Calvin was cleared, then he should be back. I'm soo mad.

Probably multiple reasons...they wanted both guys so they came to a compromise, and maybe Clyde didn't want to travel.

The more I think about the Murphy situation the more upset I get...this is almost as upsetting (though in a different way) than when the allegations from his daughters surfaced. I was scared back then that Calvin would be lost and I would never see him do a Rockets game again. Now the opportunity has come and the Rockets are saying it isn't going to happen???

I don't care if the Rockets/FSSW listen or not, we've got to fight this anyway. I at least thought that for some reason if Calvin wouldn't be back that Van would at least do another year, though I know he has other obligations. Now we get a couple of boring stiffs (believe me I loved Clyde and Bull as players) for color commentators...so much for the entertainment value. All I want is a guy who knows his stuff and can provide some life behind the mic ... help keep us entertained during a 30 point blowout.

Wow, I'm surprised at all the support Murph is getting. Isn't this the same board that a couple years ago would slam the guy nightly and claim to turn off the sound and listen to Gene on the radio instead? (Which I would have done this year with Van but I have DirecTV and the time delay kills any chance of that).
Anyway, it seems like Clutchcity.net hated Murph's antics but Clutchfans.net loves him.

Instead of just complaining, why don't all of us on this board bombard the rockets with emails to bring Murph back. Remember when Les Alexander tried to get rid of him but had to bring him back because of the outrage surrounding his departure???

I signed the petition on Dave's sig if that means anything. We should send a whole buncha letters to that sports guy at the Chronicle. My bro sent stuff to them bout the JVG $100,000 thing and they talked bout the issue and the fans angry and all and said how many letters they got. Maybe we could do that. Just an idea

Clyde Drexler, backroom politician strikes again. If you wonder why he is only doing home games, just look at his track record coaching UofH, the Rockets probably did want to take the chance of him missing a few games.
