Normally, the Rockets always played terribly after a big win. Add the good performance by Francis & Yao over ASW on top of that, you know they are going to lay an egg tomorrow.

Fortunately, this the the Wizards team who cannot beat anybody on a normal day, so a win is in the bag!

HOw can you not mention Robert Pack? he is so explosive on his drive, Steve will have a hard time trying to guard him.
And Brent Price is just shooting the light out too.... wait... didn't he sign with the rox? I wonder which side he will play for..
Jim Mac....(sp) is really solid center off the bench, he jumps, he runs, he blocks shot.... his per 48 min stat is solid, he could be a starter somewhere and be signed a real big fat contract...

damn, I was a few minutes too slow with that one. I knew I shouldn't have read the thread before posting!

 

The Rockets better win while they can...tough times are ahead in March...

 

Great point... Me too... I think he's starting to realize that it will be Yao's team very shortly, espeacially after the Laker game showing.

They need to work it back and forth, like a cheap hooker.

 

After the emotional high, a let down is inevitable. Yao who only PLAYS against good players will once more decide he's suffiently bored playing 3rd rate players and continue the long streak of getting owned by them (Foster, Rasho, Tag, Haywood, Wright, Skinner, etc).

 

Yao and SF come back with too much ease , joy and win from ASG. They are going to be cool.

YAO and SF both have worse stats than ASG.
Cat shows why he should join the 3-pointer contest with 3/17 shooting.
Mo and Cato try to drop their trade value by raining the bricks.

The reason why steve gets bored with 3rd rate players is because they are defense assasins. They are not made as an offensive speciality, like Shaq, who uses a lot of energy on offense, so he uses less on defense. These defense first players are the tough players for yao, cause there there for one reason, and thats to put a body on yao. Its about efficiency when your on the court, and how you expend your energy. I think Steve hit on this, and hes figuring it out. Before steve used to be doing everyhing out there and getting winded...now hes more under control, and hes starting to channel his energy more on offense, where its needed.
