battier is terrible. he is the weakest link. i thought he would be the "3rd option" on offense but he is the fifth option. he doesnt create, he never draws fouls, his shot is average, everyone keeps raving about his defense but his man still scores at will (see gordon, butler, ginobili) i just dont see why this guy gets paid $7 million a year. i wanted to 'win now" also, but is battier the best we could have gotten in the entire league for a 8th pick? i dont see why he gets 37 minutes a night.

id rather have him play strictly backup sf behind tmac, if tmac gets 38 minutes, then battier should only get 10mpg. i like the guards to be Head, vspan,a healthy wells, alston, and i even like snyder . So battier draws a couple of charges, big whoop.,Thats like 4 points. (and half the time they call him for a foul) . His ppg is terrible.

Yup. Like he was the guy on Gordon and Ginobilli and then Butler's whopping 14 was just off the charts.

wtf?? u better start following the rockets a little more before u post something as stupid as this... who told u we brought him as a "3rd option"?

we brought him for his defense, for his energy, for the charges he takes, for the rebounds he tips to his teammates, for his diving saves when the ball is going out of bound, for his steals and blocks and lock down D... we dont want him to create!! we have enough people to create...

if Battier wasn't on the rockets, we would probably be 4-8 right now..

I kept a track of the Rox games on the NBA website and while I'm delighted we've won again, I can spot so many problems with it.

The first is the 4th quarter collaspes we seem to have almost every game, we wer're in control of this game leading into the 4th but we're outscored and the Wizards pull us back, we should be able to contain and keep a lead in the 4th, this needs to be sorted out ASAP.

Another problem I spotted from looking at the stats of this game and previous ones is the amount of turnovers, we need to concede less turnovers if we're going to be taken seriously, we doubled the amount of turnovers against the Wizards.

That definitely felt like another cute "I like to draw attention to myself" post.

And I completely agree with the 4-8 comment. Drawing those charges and taking away those 4 points or however many could have been the difference considering the final score. That's not to mention the three blocks he got in each of the past two games.

We have won all the games we should win, and lost all the games we should lose, that is.

Thanks for the link to the pictures. I looked back to see the pics 610 had from the first game... Toyota Center isn't really that big is it? I think its smaller than Rupp.

I don't know if you have noticed that Memphis is the worst team in the NBA. I know Gasol is out, but Shane is also a big reason for that.

We are the number one defense (at least statistically) in the NBA. Shane is a HUGE part of that.

And I bet Battier will give you a nice scoring performance on Saturday against his ex-team.

4 pts in a 4 point game... hmm. Do you really see what he does out there? Those bound passes to Yao and Tmac to set up the play, how when he sets a pick on a point guard, he keeps his body on the point guard and get low position, creating mismatches. He had some nice in your face defense on Butler and tipped 3 rebounds back in the 2nd quarter.
