He and Zheng He sailed all the way to Africa, then went on to New Jersey and got married, lived happily ever after on the Jersey shore. THE END

Why's that? He's barely shooting more than Rafer now (about 1 more FGA/game, last time I checked) despite a bigger role in the offense, AND assisting more, and TO'ing less.....

You mean 20-sided die, right? I loved D&D.

We're all getting a little deja vu everytime the Rockets are up double-digits in the second half and see them go on their nightly offense-runs-dry late in the 3rd or during the 4th quarter, but the bright side of it all is that we're winning the games (well, except SA)... ugly? Yeah. Could it be uglier? Yeah, if we lost all those games, this place would be unbearable for good reason.

I hate to be such a brightspot in all the complaining but...

I think it's a good sign this early in the season that they're pulling out these wins... I am certain that the team realizes that they've been horrendous in the latter second half of games and are working on to improve throughout the season.

Alston was playing well up until the third quarter started... he was 0-6 in the second half until he hit that big three. And V-Span is a game-changer, for all of you that loved him tonight, I want you to remember that his style of aggressive play will result in frustration also, lets hope that he is more like Ginobili other than their similiar abrasive style of play and Spanoulis has the brain to match.

Keep your heads high, Rocket fans, we're 8-4; Yao Ming is the monster we hoped for 5 years ago (more jumpers than dunks but hey, 26ppg is 26ppg) and McGrady is slowly getting into game-shape. Once both those players are rolling and we develop a style, the future of the season is bright.

Alston played very poor in this game.

Mike James = poor man's Marbury in his prime. He can only be a good backup PG.

I was at the game tonite, good win. I will admit that i was nervous down the stretch, but the Rockets pulled it out and I am happy.

Note to the Rowdies, you guys did a great job. Keep it up. Also, nice to meet you Andymoon.

    Wrongety wrong wrong wrong wrong.

Marbury has never been the outside shoooter James is.

This is PRECISELY the kind of misconception I'm talking about.

People think James, they think "Poor man's Marbury, francis, shoot first, TO's a lot, blahblahblahblahblah"

That is NOT the kind of player he is. He shoots first....when he can make it, hence the high percentage. He's good on the break. He passes to the open man. He defends. He's an incredibly efficient scorer. He has minimal turnovers.

He's the poor man's Marbury - in bizarro world where Marbury is hyper efficent.

That is why the Rox were literally BANGING DOWN THE BOY'S DOOR a few months ago.

Why in the flying **** are you guys talking about Mike James?

And Alston couldn't hit **** unless he was behind the arc. What was he, 4/9 from three?

Still, he hit big in the fourth when it mattered. Tonight he gets credit.

Well apparently we aren't the only ones making a habit out of blowing big leads down the stretch. The Nets just blew a double digit lead for the second or third time in a row and lost to the Blazers.

That said, I am not a Nets fan and these blown Rockets leads are going to shave a few years off my life. We won't get away with it against the better teams in the league (the SA game is a case in point). Oh well, a win is a win so I'll sleep well...for tonight.

    :D
one of the reasons why oop scored so few against rox is because rox's tempo is slow.. if u look at opp fg%, rox is on the middle of the list..

rox still a decent defensive team.

damn utah just beat the kings.. huge come back :D

Just saw this game recap from AP:

    rest of the article

I mean, c'mon, was JVG really this innovative and adventurous with his game plan when the game was on the line, and was Head really the guy to be trusted to excute such plan flawlessly? Or maybe, just maybe, it was simply a fluke and they are now claiming credit?

    I find it incredible.

There's nothing innovative about asking a player to miss a free throw on purpose when the other team doesn't have a timeout and there's only a few seconds left. That's routine.

It's getting too damn annoying that we always blow big leads.

Something is not right with this organization. It's not just with a few particular players. Because we have had performed big roster changes pretty much every year since JVG is here. But we still blow leads. It has got to do with the whole organization culture.

No. James has the same problem with Marbury, don't know when to shoot and when to pass. Normally when they are not sure they just shoot. They just can't run a team smoothly. Teams use them as starting PGS always underachieve.
