ClutchFans Game Thread: Warriors @ Rockets 5/4/2025 (Playoffs Round 1, Game 7)

If the Rocket play their game, GS will need their stars to be sensational to keep this game close. If Curry, Butler, or Green falters in the slightest, this is a runaway win for the Rockets (pending FT shooting). It's game five all over again.

If the Rockets feed on the crowd and play better-than-average, it's a runaway. The talking point at halftime will be, "This depleted Warrior squad had a few chances to stop the young Rockets, but they rested and failed to compete with everything on the line."

The out-of-touch talking heads will ask, "How did the Rockets, who don't have a single closer, emerge from a 3-1 deficit to beat a veteran team with two closers?"

Do we get to write the last chapter in the GS playoff run? I hope so.

Denver had a 16-7 free throw advantage in the 1st half yesterday while it was still a game

they’ll either let the dudes play, or have Brooks and Amen in foul trouble

So far, no one on Golden State has had an answer for Steven Adams and the sheer physicality he brings. One more game of that, and it might be all we need.

And do we have one more vintage Fred VanVleet performance in the tank? Wouldn't be the first time he decided a series.

I’ve been riding the positive thoughts wave through this series; from 0-0 to down 3-1, always believed with little anxiety. Not just for the sake of believing but because we are very good.

However being completely honest, I’m a little anxious this morning but it will fade. Our guys are built for this moment. Too young to be encumbered by the history of 3-1 deficits, or the legend of the warriors; too raw and hungry to fall apart in game 7 like some rockets teams of past. This is like March madness for these young guys, it’s just one more game, and they will move on to the next round.

 

Of course the nba sends their finest in brothers to steer it into their desired outcome

As much as I loathe Tony Brothers, the Rockets only had him officiate 6 of their games this season and they won 5 of them. Their lone loss? At the Nets when Amen threw away the inbounds pass. Can't exactly blame Brothers for that one.

he needs to attack the basket. Especially when he is throwing up clankers from 3. He should easily net 15pts. IMO

 

Was there ever a doubt? They saved him for game 7. My confidence is shaken.

 

Every game the Warriors were allowed this physicality to the extreme. What have you been watching?

Amen hasn’t had more than 3 fouls since game 1…Steven Adams is averaging 1 foul a game…Tari Eason 2 fouls a game

the refs main form of rigging is allowing 1 team to be physical and straight up not calling fouls or calling ticky tack fouls on the other then that team can’t get a rhythm on offense and their defense has to play soft…then all off the sudden Steph gets freed up on offense

that is what I’m concerned about

 

How come? He’s been good this series
