Most pathetic in decades is going a little far. But I would argue it's their most pathetic performance of the season. Up until Saturday, the worst IMO was the blowout loss at New Orleans where everyone played so poorly and uninspired that McHale benched the entire starting lineup(save for Harden) early in the 3rd quarter.

Honestly, I'd rank Game 3 even lower than that. At least you could sort of explain the Pelicans loss away(not justify, mind you, just explain) since it was only 2 months into the regular season, it was on the road, Dwight was coming off his first knee injury and wasn't himself, Smith and Brewer were still relatively new to the team, and it was their first game after New Years and in New Orleans(think the guys hadn't partied before that one?).

But Game 3 was at home, in the Western Conference Finals, with the entire season on the line(an 0-3 deficit is basically a death sentence in the NBA), and other than Dwight, no Rockets player showed up. And it's not like they were coming off of 2 blowout losses. They knew they could play with the Warriors. How is it that the team played like they didn't seem to give a damn and were ready to start their summer vacation?

Rockets lose, had a great season. we're built like the clips, and we will have a tough time winning it all.

I don't know about that last part. The Clippers' hands are completely tied this offseason thanks to some boneheaded moves by Doc. They may not even be able to keep Austin Rivers unless he takes a hometown/daddy discount.

At least the Rockets if they do nothing but resign their own free agents will bring back the same core that got to the WCF and add D-Mo, Bev, and the 18th and 32nd picks.

after all the work players and coaching staff put in from the offseason till now, at home in the western conf finals, to put forth that kind of effort was pathetic as can be.

except for harden/jones, the rest of the rotation is already at or past their playing primes. with OKC and NO added to the already tough mix of WC teams next season, who knows when they will make it this far again in their careers. and as fans who've been waiting/enduring 18 overall disappointing seasons to finally make it back to this point...

yes, getting blown the F off our homecourt by 35 with the players looking disinterested the bulk of the game, while giving up countless wide open layups over and over again -- that was a historically low moment in this franchise's history that surpassed even the shameful showing @ LA in the previous series.

this pattern of collapses and disappearing effort has to be addressed by les and morey. either it's the coaching or the players or the system, or some combo of em all.

    Woah, woah, woah, woah!

I think you're giving the Rockets too much credit.

Every series the loss of Bev and DMo has become more and more crippling. Not that they're world beaters... But they're obvious starters, at positions that highlight the teams weaknesses.

They aren't coming back... So it be what it be.

I'd let Dorsey get a play where he can post up on Curry. Back up into him then just fall in a way that will hurt Curry... Curry leaves on a stretcher and Rox proceed to win this game.

The warriors are legitimate even without Curry, so we'd still lose. Hence the Harden over Curry debate.

I don't think so. Without Curry scoring that many points they'd be a tough hole. Go back and look at the games so far. Dwight had the perfect opportunity with Curry pulling his arm while butting into him. Jump for the rebound and use Curry for the cushion by landing with a forearm to the back of the neck or head... The refs go back to look at the replay they see Curry tugging on Dwight's arm while trying to box him out as a smaller player so Dwight's intent is an honest play and Curry gets a severe concussion or whatever and is out for the series....

    i hear you.

a man can go down. but he cannot go down not swinging. this team stopped swinging too many times. it's inexcusable.

Just moment a Warriors fan shouted at me that Rockets is garbage, and they feel ashamed at playing with us. :(

    very true ^^^

something that the glass-always-full crowd here at CF don't seem or want to acknowledge

something is fundamentally wrong with this team. either the players have tuned out the coaches, or the players do not know how to solve the Warriors' defense and offense because of lack of coaching. I also think if Harden doesn't see that they can win, he slacks off because he is indeed tired.
