ClutchFans Game Thread: Warriors @ Rockets 4/30/2025 (Playoffs Round 1, Game 5)

We are better but not playoff smarter. That will always be the difference. That's why today was so crucial to win to get these young Rockets experience, however the confidence won't fully be there until they win on the road. The close 4th quarter in GS in game #4 gave Houston a great opportunity to know they can hang with these guys. Will that carry over to game #6 is the question?

 

It’s a psychological game. We imposed our will on them. Devastated them. Don’t let up. We need to annihilate them game 6. Break their wills.

Man oh man, memories of the Clippers series.

It's not often the lower seeded team takes a 3-1 lead, but what they gotta watch our for is G5.

If you dont take care of business, the pressure is all on you to win G6 or else.

Don't get me wrong, we didn't win those game 5s the same, and the Warriors are not the Clippers... but we showed up big time and what a boost to see the FTs going in and playing such great D.

As much as some are dreading GSW's start on Fri and their homecrowd... I think our guys make it interesting.

Don't know about that. I think Adam Silver might be licking his chops at getting this Rockets Warriors series to game 7. There is no current remaining series or future series in these playoffs that's going to provide as much drama. Might as well milk the Rockets-Warriors series for as long as he can.

 

Right. The one thing we aren’t is savvy. Even our vets. Maybe FVV a little, and Uncle Jeff, but that’s about it. There’s a dearth of savvy on our roster.

That means we’ll have to kill them with youth and athleticism.

The problem with this reasoning is coulda woulda shoulda, well what if GS also made 4 extra FTs. we'd still lose lol.

 

Just finished watching the game. Udoka is such an a$$hole for waiting 5 games to realize we should play faster. Look at us attacking them early, fast and aggressive in transition. Yes RISKING TURNOVERS god forbid we take a f*cking risk.

Look at how it unleashed Amen to be Amen. Look at the assists from Sengun. When you attack fast, at least you don't give the other team enough time to suffocate your spacing. Attacking defenders on their heels. If you don't have the best shooting team and you have the most athletic team in the NBA, of course you attack fast. You have the younger team going against an old ass tired team, of course you make them run.

Wasn't all sunshine, GSW second and third units won the 4th Quarter and tied the 3rd Quarter.

And beware of getting into opponents' faces.

Gutsy win. We are psychologically strong. This is a sign of a good team.

 

So now this is all I wanted to see, the energy, the fire and had we shown this in game 3 and 4 more, we would’ve won one. Amen finally showing up, thank heavens. Btw 100% Kerr sent in his goon squad to injury us and I really did not like Ime’s line-up in the 4th before he went back to the starters - that’s solely on his dumb ass - and for us not to know how to handle some press. They got way too many rebounds and mainly Butler we need to target on those rebounds. If you lose that battle like that in Golden State, guaranteed L.

Great to see Green have some aggression as well, Brooks to get some stuff going, Tari to have those tough lay-ups and cuts, Jabari still too much dribbling to be honest but it’s fine. Next game I say we need some Jeff or Jock on Post, let them hurt the guy a little bit, feel us a bit more. Jeff Green is also automatic from the corners so play the MF! Awesome win, but did not like that ending, not one bit. We looked too soft and shook.
