What's there to not understand?

The Rockets have bad shooters. They shoot a lot of 3's, but lack 3 point shooters. Other teams that shoot a lot of 3's have 3 point shooters. It's simple.

I'm a believer in Morey's philosophy of 3's, layups, and free throws. It's obviously successful for many of the top teams in the league. What I don't believe in is Morey thinking his philosophy works with any grouping of players, regardless of how good they actually are at shooting. When somebody like Trevor Ariza is your best outside threat, then you've made a mistake.

 

Rockets played well for a half before giving up in the 3rd quarter.

When do yall think they will roll over in game 5?

They win the next game. Its the Rockets so it will go with how the season has played out. Then lose at home in Game 6...

 

They are absolutely not beating the Warriors in Oracle Arena.

 

The whole team headed by McDaniels and Ariza should be working on chasing shooters off the 3pt line. That should be the drill for practice until game 5.

 

Will need to get the whole team to buy into playing D for 48 minutes which the team has proven it has not done so all season long. Will be interesting to see IF the team still wants to fight or fold. I am hoping for the best but JB needs to have a better rotation and need to find a way to give Harden some rest so he will be ready for a strong finish in the 4th.

 

Apparently I was overly optimistic.

 

It's hard to say with this team. They tend to collapse once they lose focus for a minute. That can happen in the 1st minute or the 48th minute.

 

I am beginning to think the collective BB IQ of this team is extremely low. They seem to forget what play to run and always yelling/pointing at each other to get into position. They run a very basic offense that keeps 3 people outside the 3pt line almost all the time. Harden will never come inside the 3pt line without the ball and the other perimeter players are glued to the corners . The next coach needs to instill discipline and a new offense system . Harden doesn't have to go ISO so much and forcing Dwight into the post shouldn't be the alternative . Harden doesn't have all around athletic skills to be potent on every spot on the floor so rockets need to invest on another Beasley type player that can also defend. It seem like harden is just a bigger version of Jamal Crawford without the fancy moves. 6th Man mentality.

Every three Thompson, Green, Iggy, and Barnes made was soul draining. The Rockets couldn't score worth a damn and turned the ball over like it was a training camp game or worse. You stop those 3 pt opportunities and you have a chance.

I think it's a good answer and actually a mild one. Of course he should say, "they have to throw me the damned ball," and that's how he feels. But he's not calling the plays or handling the ball, so it's actually a stupid question to ask him unless someone is trolling for controversial statements (which of course they are).
