Rockets have no stars, almost no playoff experience. Historically, this does not bode well for playoff success regardless of seeding. Warriors have both stars and extensive playoff experience. Neither of these traits bode well for Rockets’ chances. The one thing working in their favor is it seems just about everyone is doubting their chances which could serve as motivation. There’s that, and there’s the age of the Warriors key players. Also, sometimes stars are born in the playoffs

I think we got them in 6 if it tool Steph and Jimmy to have basically 40 point games to beat the grizzles

 

The Rockets are playing their best basketball right now. They made Golden State look old and tired when they whipped them in their last matchup. The Rockets have a truly special defense, with best-in-the-league Amen Thompson, and premium wing defenders in Tari Eason and Dillon Brooks. They matchup well against Golden State's aging stars - Curry and Butler.

Confidence is high and the Rockets will win this series.

Well, and our W/L record, net rating, point differential, etc, all suggest we have more overall talent than they do. That counts for something.

For me this series would be a coin flip if I thought it would be officiated fairly.

It's time for an announcement to the world that we're legit and payback on the Warriors.

rockets play great and aggressive defense that can rattle curry but we’ll see how the refs want to officiate.

if they start calling ticky tack fouls on the rockets it’s going to dictate the whole series. Rockets will be forced to play timid and not their regular selfs if the refs of old come to play this series.

 

And that the Rockets play up to competition just as the Rockets could lose to Portland or Utah at one point.

The Rockets can either win or lose, there is no tie or draw.

 

GO ROCKETS GO! Just play competitive , keep your composer , and stay the course!

 

I hate this, but its baptism by fire.

No better way to start this new era than to face the nemesis of our old one. If we win, it'll be glorious and the most validating series win in decades probably, but if we lose... as heartbreaking as itd be... these are young guns with little to no experience losing to a GSW team that is not a true 7th seed and is almost always in the trophy hunt with Curry on the floor.

Could we win? Sure, absolutely.

Will we win? Honestly, I have no idea.

My guess? We lose Game 1. Why? Because we'll start flat. Rest is rest, but rust is rust, and too often we start games poorly anyways. We'll be cold, jittery, nervous, and the Warriors will jump on that with 3s and ball movement buckets. We'll go down double digits early, but we'll fight back, defend, rebound, scoring burst, and get within striking distance, however GS will hit backbreakers to pull out the win and gain homecourt advantage.

Then we'll win G2.
Then we'll split on the road.

Then the real who knows starts. We'll have some bounce and some confidence, but can we overcome their infuriating consistency and big buckets?

We're not holding Curry to single digits again.

There's no way around it. The Warriors are our demon, and I hate them more than any other team we've ever hated... more than Seattle, more than Utah, more than the Lakers, etc. If they win, that'll be 5x ousted by the same team in a decade, and that's hard to swallow.

C'mon Rockets, surprise me.
