ClutchFans Game Thread: Warriors @ Rockets 4/20/2025 (Playoffs Round 1, Game 1)

Have you heard that that's what we're all here that we're venting and we're dealing with it this way.

 

Some of you all need to relax. It's almost as if you've forgotten what playoff basketball is like. The Rockets showed that it is going to be very difficult to beat them, and even if the Warriors do beat us, it is not going to be a 4-5 game series. This is going to at least 6 games.

The Rockets absolutely dominated the boards and also played some lock down defense. Ime definitely has to make adjustments and it starts with not playing FVV 40 ****ing minutes and letting him shoot that many shots. He played Holiday for a damn reason during the season, it would be wise to give him at least 10 minutes to see if he can provide a spark off the bench with Jabari, Eason, and Adams.

It sucks losing. I know it feels like the world is over, but it happens. The sure as hell did tire the Warriors out with all the physicality.

 

I put off a lot of work for this mess. Gonna be getting 4 hrs of sleep tonight FFS

FVV makes me pine for Jeremy Lin.

 

Missed FTs and SHITTY Guard play killed this game.

THIS ......THIS IS WHY I ****ING WANTED REED AND CAM TO PLAY ALL YEAR as backups, so that when our guards sucked they would be ready to contribute, instead Ime wasted an entire year of development and now they aren't ready either.

They’ve had no offense were a while now, it was a big concern going in

this being the norm is more likely than not going forward

 

current rockets are hard to watch

guess its just me not being fair to this team due to their youth and because we saw harden at his best here, but hard to believe the media and casuals said the harden rockets were "unwatchable" and somehow be ok and tolerate a team as offensively challenged as the current houston rockets

People are haters. Hard to believe that fans did not enjoy multiple WCF's and also always being in the conversation.

 

I didn't realize he had more shots than Sengun. That's absurd. Sengun should have touched the ball every time down

 

I know it might be hard to trust their defense and/or decision making in a playoff series, but Ime might have to consider giving Reed and Cam Whitmore some run if the offense continues to be so damn pathetic

game 2 is a must-win…we lose that one and we’ll get swept

 

GS is guarding the 3pt line and the paint, the midrange is wide open, Reed would thrive in this game, all those open FT line shots.

I'm not at all surprised by Jalen going 3-15, we have seen that before

His absolute inability to blow past Steph Curry and create meaningful space to attack the cup wasn't something I expected to see though. Steph was allowed a lot of leeway on the handchecks but Jalen still needs to be able to get past him

Dude says he was watching Kobe tapes to prepare and serves that up. I just hope he can lift for Game 2 because this will be a short series if this is the Jalen that we get.

 

The Rockets had me opening cans at 10:30am
