ClutchFans Game Thread: Warriors @ Rockets 4/20/2025 (Playoffs Round 1, Game 1)

Let me be the 1000th person tonight to say our backcourt of FVV and Jalen can't shoot worth a sht. I'd rather have had Sheppard out there in the minutes Fred played. That was one of the most pathetic displays of shooting I've seen in a long time.

 

Our halfcourt offense with FVV leading doesn’t run any plays to give anyone a easy shot outside of Alpi

JG goes against set defense
Amen goes against set defense
if FVV brings it up slow, then even Alpi in post is against set offense

We played best with FVV off ball and JG driving.. needed more Bari over Amen cause they packing paint and Amen wasn’t getting his baseline cuts

JG has to develop a damn floater because they not calling none of those acrobatic layup fouls

 

fertita, if you the real italian mafia connection, do the rigging job correctly.

 

Gonna have to disagree about not being able to sit Fred, especially when he's playing like that.

His "leadership" is not worth his negatives.

He provided nothing of value tonight that someone else couldn't have.

 

I almost forgot how much I hate golden state. This game really has me boiling. All aspects on court and off court. Ime should have the team watch back the full tnt broadcast.

 

Our defense was stellar tonight. We crushed them on the boards as expected. Too many dumbass turnovers that led to easy points for the warriors.

If Jalen and FVV shoot 35% then we win.

 

On the other hand, defending gets a lot easier if they aren't calling handchecks, moving screens, or blatant holds on rebounds.

Fred and Jalen can get in the closest bin still, especially Fred for slow walking the whole game wasting clock for no reason, but if Golden State gets prison rules every game this will be over in 4

 

Some legs gotta get snapped tonight.

 

Jalen couldn’t even get past curry.

 

2 injury prone aging stars is exactly what the Suns did and look at them. I would much rather save playing time for Amen, Bari, Tari, Sengun, Green, Reed and our upcoming top 10 draft pick. The warriors aren't even championship contenders. If they play like this they will get cooked by the thunder.

 

I seriously don’t understand ime and his approach, Jalen and fvv were trash all game and he kept insisting on them being there….truly unbelievable

 

Other teams got destroyed way worse than the Rockets. This game is more competitive than other playoff games.

Problem is Rockets offense looks like 8 year olds playing against their dads. Too inept to compete with. Without offensive rebounds they're barely scoring in the 70's.

Oddly, all it takes is for Green, FVV, Amen to play even slightly below average to get a W. Yet combined together, they were levels below that. Just terrible. Without much optimism that they can be good.

 

The Butler trade saved GSW this season......this can still be a series.

 

Bari should of taken at least 5-7 of those 13

 

Sadly in hindsight Rockets fans now wish Ben Taylor had given FVV a couple of technical fouls.

 

Three days to fix the ship.

Rockets in 6. Warriors ain't that good.

 

I have no doubt, OKC would come in and blow this out by 25 plus.
