ClutchFans Game Thread: Warriors @ Rockets 4/20/2025 (Playoffs Round 1, Game 1)

4 points game. Missed travel - 2 points, missed out of bounds - 3 points. The refs turned a 4 point game into a 9 point game real quick. I can’t freaking stand the Warriors. They push, slap, reach and shove all game knowing they get all the calls because the golden child is on their team.

 

Yeah, I was positive that the team would have a good chance of winning if they rebounded well.

Anyway, it's one game in a long series.
Looking forward to the adjustments that Udoka can make.

 

It's been 4 games in a row.

 

Kind of predictable that JG will be unplayable in this type of half court offense, nice kid, but just not a very good basketball player. FVV's shooting is disappointing all season, but we really can't afford not playing him.

 

Hopefully this is the last year Fred is in a Rockets uni.

I'm not sure if people post these things actually watch games. Jalen can't get to the rim whenever he wants but that's not even the sad part, the sad part is he can't finish when he gets to the rim anyway.

 

I wouldn't be surprised if game 2 is gonna be filled with Warriors fans at home. I wouldn't blame those fans wanting to sell their tickets to road fans after this embarrassing opener.

 

We need more consistent outside shooters, that's for sure. Amen can't shoot 3's, and Jalen and Fred at times are so bad they are hard to stomach. Even our free throws shooting was pathetic tonight. Embarrassing.

 

I can absolutely see Jalen being a non factor all series

 

Honestly, it's still such a joke how much help the warriors need.

I really stopped caring, have brooks end curry's career. They play dirty, you have to respond in kind...

8 points on just 3 plays they were gifted.

 

Adams should play 40 minutes a game. With all the missed shots, he's going to feast on the offensive broard.

 

Could've done both. When you're over the cap you're over the cap. It does no harm to be more over the cap. Could still trade Fvv for KD in the offseason if you want. Tate and Jeff are just expiring so we can't even trade those in the future. There's no point in being just a little over the cap. Be under or all in.

 

I straight disagree and i would love a film breakdown. Pretty much every miss from jalen tonight was a terrible shot from bad offense, meanwhile he was hustling defensively and was active on the boards.

The biggest thing was how can he contribute when he's not shooting well. Well he did, imo. He was rushing his shot though and was not creating any easy looks for himself. We need him to CREATE and in that respect he was bad and i agree.

Unfortunately, every time he drove to the rim he was fouled with no call. Playoffs i get it but it wasnt called very even and he received only 2 open looks. Which to be fair he missed both, again rushing his mechanics imo.

Meanwhile, fred shot 12 of 13 WIDE open 3s and went 2 of 13.

Id rather have Jalens HUSTLE and 8 boards over freds 7 assists and 2 turnovers.

Especially considerring he played 10 fewer minutes.

 

Problem is they are not getting in their sets fast enough and that's poor coaching or poor decision making by VanVleet.

 

Don't forget we are also in line for another top 10 potentially top 5 pick in this draft. This team is just growing, no reason to look for impending doom.

JG will show up game 2. Bet it.

 

Adams would get 20 boards a game this series if he can play more minutes.

 

Eh, those games the Rockets weren't playing for anything...

But I do blame the coach for that, I think it was stupid to just take the last week off when we were so hot.

 

Honestly we were in a game when we played maybe our worst in months and they played as good as they get.

We should still handle them moving forward.

 

Because he is in theory the PG and usually has the ball the most they aren't on a Fastbreak.

going for his own shot so much suggests that he has some PG - Combo guards tendencies rather than a PG mindset.


At least one of Jalen and Fred doesn't need to be starting for the Rockets next season.
