I am trying to get my head around the idea that Parsons may be the Rocket's best draft pick in many years. I would have never guessed. I didn't think he would make the team much less become a budding star. I keep thinking that this can't be for real, but the more I watch him play the more legit he looks.

I love Parsons but Kobe old is not Kobe young. Kobe Young would blow by Parsons. Still Parsons has great lateral movement for a guy his size, makes it hard for anyone to shoot over and just plays smart. But he is not superman.

Also for those who say he shouldn't add weight. The NBA trainers are smarter than ever. They know how and where you can add weight to help your game. And I am not even talking about gaining much mostly toning up in all the right areas that give him a little more hops and and a little more strength when some of these bigs start pounding against him. I think that is do able. Plus McHale is already using him at the 4 sparingly. It's clear out of all the guys on the court the one Mchale hates to remove the most is Parsons. Ok maybe Dragic without Lowry. But Parsons is there are also. If Morris develops into something next year and I think he could having Parsons play multiple will give Morris more opportunities to get on the floor.

Went to the game, and was disappointed Chase was the only one who didn't get on the boards. The crowd kept screaming "shoot!" towards the end, but it looked like he lost all his confidence bein pined more than usual

What do you guys think of parsons at the 2 with Morris at the three? Do you guys think parsons can cover 2s all game? If so we would have the biggest wings running the break with great athletism and both bring somthing different on the offensive side. I think parsons can be a McGrady type player with his vision and passing at his height, and have Morris have more of the scorer role that he likes. I just think this is the most intriguing idea out of anything we have because the rockets would have somthing no team would have and that's huge skilled athletic wings kinda like how the lakers have two super huge skilled bigs. What do you guys think?

To be fair Kobe young would blow by anyone. Including the Bruce Bowens and Parsons of the league. I think Parsons could turn out to be the better scoring version of Battier and Bowen.

I still don't think Parsons will ever be a star, at least of the traditional type--he just isn't the kind of player who gets an ISO play called for him, breaks down the defense, and makes things happen. He gets his points in the flow of the offense or off of hustle plays 19 times out of 20. Every now and then he does split a double team and make a vicious cut to the basket.

Now, can he be a fantastic glue guy who also happens to be a good third option? Yes, I think so.

Toning up your body wouldn't really add to your weight, because you'd be replacing fat with muscle. Also, when people talk about not adding weight, we're not talking about stuff like toning your body, but significantly adding muscle mass to play the PF position, which is totally unnecessary. You already have Scola, Patterson and DMO next year coming in to play PF, why would you want Parsons to play PF when he does just fine as a SF? Even if you want Morris to play SF, you'd put Parsons on SG or PG, which the added weight won't help at all and will actually slow him down, lead to injuries etc.

Well this is the just the old fashoned way of thinking IMHO. During the dark ages when handchecks were allowed you needed guys like that, now not so much. If everyone on the roster is a scoring threat then there's really no need for an ISO player, look how the Knicks are crushing teams with Melo basically going 4-15 every night.

As far as Parsons is concerned, he's developing into an amazing 2 way player, and definitely the steal of the draft. If people knew he would be this could he would definitely be a top 5 lottery pick.

I don't think the 8th seed in the East Knicks are a good example here... they're worse than we are, and neither of our teams are championship contenders

i didn't watch the game, but i was checking the ESP box score. does Marcus never rebound? that's a bit of a problem, i mean i like his game, but all of his stats are 0 except for points, turnovers, and personal fouls.

how did Courtney Fortson look tonight? i didn't watch the game but he had 12 points, which is brilliant for a backup to the backup PG

ZERO assists in nearly 20 minutes -- not so brilliant for a PG.

He didn't look terrible, but he didn't look so great, either. He's an okay PG to have run your team when you're up by 25 points.
