It's the Coaches' decision not the players.

Great win. Might have been a lot bigger if Sura and Yao play more in the 4th.

Beat Charlotte tomorrow night and we're right back where we started (.500 that is).

The Rockets need to Replicate tonights effort in the game against the lowly, yet Underestmated Bobcats now!

We got a back to back game tomorrow night against the Bobcats, I'm okay with Yao sitting out when we have a big lead like tonight.

I'm ok with sitting Yao ANY time(in 4th) when we have a 20+ pt lead. Sit Tmac too. Can you imagine if either one of those guys got hurt in garbage time? JVG would get death threats.

exactly! But I am happy with his 17 Rebs, this guy really got his confidence right now. and what a amazing game by Sura! Almost triple-double! If he can just keep half of this effort and product every game, we are much better a team soon.

Yes Yao would possibly get 22 or 23 rebounds tonight if he played the whole 4th quarter. But we were leading by a big margin and we will have another game tomorrow. Why tire him out when he's not needed? We will need the big man again in less than 24 hours. Give him a good rest!

    Houston 100, Golden State 83

Preview - Box Score - Recap

    December 17, 2004

HOUSTON (AP) -- Tracy McGrady had 27 points and nine rebounds and Yao Ming added 15 points and a season-high 17 rebounds as the Houston Rockets defeated the Golden State Warriors 100-83 Friday night.

Bob Sura just missed his third career triple-double with 24 points, nine assists and eight rebounds and sat out much of the fourth quarter with the Rockets leading by as many as 23. Sura played for the Warriors from 2000-2003.

Houston, which is 27th in the NBA in rebounding, had a season-high 65.

Jason Richardson led the Warriors with 25 points, and Troy Murphy added 11 points and 13 rebounds.

Golden State forward Mike Dunleavy missed the game with a bruised lower left leg. Mickael Pietrus replaced him in the starting lineup.

Sura, who missed the first 14 games of this season following back surgery, had 17 points at the half as Houston took a 55-39 lead. It was the most points by the Rockets in a first half this season, and their 29 second-quarter points also were a season best.

    Notes

Golden State is 2-9 on the road. ... The Rockets finished 5-1 on this season-long six-game homestand ... No player has had a triple double in the Toyota Center. ... The last Houston triple-double was by Steve Francis on March 21, 2003, against Golden State. ... Yao's double-double was his team-leading eighth of the season.

    Excellent win!

I love the new runnin' Rockets even though I know JVG will pull back the reigns again. It seems he lets them run once a week. I've noticed Yao looking ALOT better on the boards the last week or so which led to this big game rebounding. He also has shown that he is quickly becoming a defensive stopper in the paint as he is either blocking or changing every shot.

This is how we thought this team would play when it was constructed and it was nice to finally witness it. I wonder if all the trade rumors the last few days sparked them a little, especially Taylor as he looked ALOT more active.

I think a big reason we won this game was we didnt shoot as many three's instead attacked the basket all night.

    *POINTS IN THE PAINT!

our guys attacked the basket all night.. I wonder if Sura is starting to become comfortable with his role and I love how he attacks the rim. We need a few people to do that consistently.
