This theory absolutely drives me nuts. Yao doesn't visit this board, and he doesn't listen to US sports talk radio. He doesn't get booed during games and I'd be surprised if he reads the US media. Yao doesn't get exposed to fans that don't give him any "love or support". At least not any Houston fans.

In fact the worst bashing that he will hear on a regular basis is on the Chinese basketball forums and chat rooms that he frequents. And those will follow him no matter where he goes.

Some people just need to chill out, about Yao needing to go somewhere else and all that crap. Every single message board in the world will have complainers and detractors when the team or certain players aren't playing well. It's just human nature.

Have you ever visited the Yao Ming Mania boards. I'd say the number of houstonians on that board is less than 5%, but the back and forth bashing and flaming is even worse than this board. I can't even go there anymore.

This whole stat padding argument is such a load of crap. It's all about the wins. If this team was 15-5, and Yao had the same stats, then he would be getting all the love in the world. I think people should be more concerned with whether the Rox win games, than if Yao hits statistical benchmarks.

Granted, some Yao fans are annoying, but so are people who stereotype all Yao fans. Just like the pre-yao era fans were different, so are the so-called Yao fans.

Fa9999 does bring a valid point that Tmac doesn't seem to shoot well when the team needs him the most. To be a superstar, you have to perform under pressure. True, Yao doesn't always shoot well either, but his FT% average speaks for him and he tends to stop shooting when his shots are not falling--which isn't necessarily a good thing for your star player.

I hope this continues with Sura, but lets be realistic, he cant keep that % up, i would like to see him, at 12pts 6 boards and 7 assists per night. Then just get a PF and we will be looking pretty good.

I like the aggressiveness, and the lack of 3's. Once JVG pulls back the reigns that will switch tho.

yeah his shooting percentage wont be like that for the whole season of course but as long as his assists and rebounds stay the same area we should be fine.

    Right on the target!!!
For TMac, it's not about trash time stat. It's all about his FG% when the game is on the line and his attacking rim as frequent as he can instead of just jacking bricks from outside.

Yes, any hornest fan who did watch the game will agree with you. Sura is great, and Yao is good in terms of rebounds, but TMac is NOT by all means until the garbage time coming.

Well, I understand your point here. I admit there are a few idiots who only post to bash Yao after he has subpar games. It seems to me that is their only purpose to be on this board. But why would you care about what these fools say? Don't put yourself at the same level as these morons. You are better than that. Just use the ignore button. Believe me, it does work.
