Klay and Steph had to hit 17 threes to beat us today...............they only won by 7

We have enough talent to build with in the coming years..........anything else we add to it is a bonus. Heck we got Eason at 17................the draft pick number doesn't matter if you get guys willing to work hard and improve.

The coach learns as well as the players learn. No coach is perfect, Even Steve Kerr still learns about his players and rotations.

Wouldn't have mattered, he just shot over whoever was in front of him

A strong and most welcome comeback in a close loss to the Warriors after the most humiliating defeat of the season to the Pacers.
JC needs to be let loose. Silas is a nut case.

three games is not a slump. Anything past 5 games is. Long season, you will have down periods. Also biggest thing Jalen is doing, is helping in other ways, rebounding, assisting, getting steals when his shot iasn't falling.

Quite a few of those shots, kpj was late and didn't get in front of him in time.

KPJ is ten years younger, couldn't chase after a 30+ yrs old Klay.

In the Pelicans game Alvarado had no issue keeping up with Porter.

In the beginning, Rocket likes to advertise that KPJ is a tall guard. The more I watch, the more I think trade off is speed. Klay is 6'7", he's not super fast but still able to get to his spots.

Every NBA team plays a lot of switching defence, so not many players stick to the one player. Also Klay and Steph are 2 of the greatest shooters ever........i have seen them hit shots with everyone around them. Sometimes you just say too good. The Warriors ball movement also catches teams out. People here get angry, even when we lose to the reigning champs. I took mostly positives out of this game...........couldn't do that with the Pacers game.

Well here's Klay's games this season. Last five games he's usually around 17-20 pts.

    https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/t/thompkl01/gamelog/2023

What you described is their reputation, which people's can agree, but clearly the 41 pts even for Klay is rare. He's not doing this against every team this season.

He had 76.9 3p% on ten of 13 threes; it's an outlier. After KPJ: Green and Tari had few defensive assignments, but KPJ was the main dude.

People asking for things like if Silas is fired get an Udoka, what do folks think Ime will ask of the players?

    defensive accountability

He is starting to get his radar on track. He was on a minutes restriction for awhile to start the season. 14 threes in the last two games. We won't be the only team he goes nuts against this season. He also shoots a lot of threes in transistion.

There are some things Silas has done that I'm not happy about, but
I still give Silas much of the season to make a true assessment, imo.

    ---------------
I'm not a fan of Boban taking up a roster spot...blocked Charles
Bassey acquisition.......bring in Miles Bridges. Some player(s)?

I said before opening night that I would stagger KPj and Jalen Green
much like we did with CP3 and Harden. It's not easy for two guards
to do the dueling banjos thing. Each need their alone time to get in a
groove. Much of season Silas has sat both together in the first
half but then stagger them in the second half. It appears they do
better staggered in the second half. Silas is trying to give Nix
and Mathews work. Build trade value?

Before opening night I wrote that I would not play Mathews much.

Same with EG.......we can't build this guy's trade value any more than
what it was last trade deadline. Keep this guy healthy.....move him
    ASAP.

I wanted Jabari and Tari together more.....I liked seeing them
together last night vs the Warriors. It will take time for them
to get use to each other. Tari and Bari do many things
the same but also do things that can bring out the best
    of each other.

I personally would like to see Silas coach after this very
difficult schedule..... preferably against some sub-500 teams
not named GSW. These playoff teams will take advantage
of Sengun drop coverage all day long. In helping Sengun defensively
helps Thompson, Curry, Poole, Wigging go off.

But I get how or why fans want Silas out.

I just watched the highlight reel of Klay Thompson's makes last night and I noticed that KPJ is often lost defensively and not really contesting shots.

KPJ was fantastic on both sides of the ball. Some guys will always find something to complain about.

We have been improving at a steady pace the last few games. Its true we are improving at a pace not liked by anyone here. But, we are improving.
    • Last night was the first game where Garuba was given the opportunity to earn more minutes, and you could argue he outplayed Sengun. And Im a big Alpi guy. Regardless, he is not adding value when his shot is not falling, his game depends on the referees a lot, when the referees favor his matchup over him, we should go to Garuba earlier.
    • Great game from Jabari, first time I leave the game happy about drafting him. We were due.
    • Its crystal clear our defense improves a lot when we have Tari-Garuba. Loved the fact we saw a couple of additional combinations with them. Loved the Bari-Tari-Garuba minutes.
    • Our offense still sucks, biggest reason and this is on the coaching, we allow for people to hold onto the ball for too long, while they think. And let's all be clear here, we dont have a lot of thinkers on this Roster. if its truly a 5 out read and react offense, ball can't get sticky.
    • KJ Martin just does stuff. At this point, I dont care about suffering for space if we have the right effort. After all, we are suffering for space already and we dont have the right effort.
    • Is JayGup being outplayed by this version of NIx? I like Nix as a prospect but he is really behind on the learning curve when compared to our more heralded rookies. Not sure his process can go along with the rest of the team. His position need more savvy play.
Very nice to feel again real desire to watch the next game.
