never saw Yao did that bad on line before, maybe he's little uneasy, or disturbed by the noise made by GS fans. anyway, we win a close game thanks to FS, Yao and Cato.

LOL, Golden State fans are claiming that they have a better team then the Rockets because of the close game, never mind that the Rockets also aren't at 100% and are in the middle of a brutal shooting slump that started in Toronto. Pike's 10 ppg and sharp shooting will pay dividends off the bench, as will Mo's low post scoring. Griffin will provide the defense, this team will be something at full strength. For now, good to see them finding ways to win!

    There's something to triplet's posts.

Defensive teams (football or basketball) are always going to play in more close games than more offense-oriented squads. There are fewer scores/possessions by both teams, which allows less time for either side to build a big lead.

Personally, that's one reason I like more attacking teams. More overall chances, theoretically at least, means that the better team has a higher chance of winning in the end.

Of course, when those teams do play close games, they often don't know how to handle it as well. So maybe not ;).

Rockets are 7-0 when leading after first quarter
    1-3 when not

That translated into a 0.81 correlation coefficient. But I'm not sure whether this is a causal relationship.;)

oh my, it's our home court. then maybe it's too quiet at the crunch time when they hit those fts. ;) i wonder what would Yao said to his Chinese fans in the BBS this time about his frightening misses. Last time, Yao talked about an interesting interview with JVG before the game in PHY.

Rockets had me scared there for a moment... Glad they took care of this game. A game i had expected them to win. NO EXCUSES. Good game by our 2 stars Ming and Francis, and also a nice showing by my main man BOKI.

A win is a Win ! But the Guards are still at it. Cats passing seems to be improving though . For Most of the Game the Warriors Power Forward Cliff Robinson was shooting wide open Jumpers while Cato was looking good elswhere. Towards the end I noticed Cato playing defence on one of their Guards. Last year we would have lost this game. Why did the Ref. call so few of the 35 Warrior fouls committed against Yao Ming ?

Tonight's game was a little strange. We had some defensive lapses, and won beacuase of our shooting. That's odd, but I'll take the win.

I think the balance between Steve and Yao was just about right tonight. It was scary, but I love the win, and our record.

I can't believe this. Our guards and Yao Ming had really nice balance tonight. Not too lopsided for either.

Yao said he could tell Warriors center Erick Dampier was not at his best the final quarter.

"I felt he was low on energy. He wasn't 100 percent," Yao said. "In the fourth quarter, their energy level went down. The difference between the first three quarters and the final quarter was obvious."

    Yao is so humble.

"I just played him like I've been playing," Dampier said. "He got a couple of shots to fall in the fourth, and that was the difference in the game. He hit a couple of tough shots. He got a layup on the fast break and got a couple of easy baskets for them during that stretch.

"We didn't double-team him the whole game. He's not a Shaquille. There's no need to double-team him."

    haha What a loser!6fouls!

Does any one read the threads?

The poster said that there are two links and I quoted his or her post to say that I have always had luck with 1050 link.

I'm not trying to start something, I just couldn't believe that shortly after the two post everyone was having a problem.

    :)

there are way too few people giving thanks after a win, if this was a loss, we would be at page 18 now. We played great in the fourth after our bad third quarter. Why is this game important? because we closed out our opponent, something we were horrible at last year. ugly, but not as ugly as the 76ers game, but a win is like two points, it doesnt matter if its a layup, a dunk, a jump shot or two free throws, it doesnt matter if yao missed his free throws or we let the other team shoot a high percentage. ill take the win. now good luck on the tough road trip, lets show them how mentally tough we really are and sweep that toronto game under the rug.

I didn't watch the game, but from the stats, Dampier played a very efficient game, Yao was only 4/11(?) in the first three qtrs. The difference was in the 4th qtr, when Dampier picked three fouls, and fouled out. Did GS double Yao at all tonight?

:D Dampier sure took care of Yao tonight.

It would be interesting to see if more coaches around the league would single cover Yao.

Actually I thnk their game plan works mostly for them. They are not as dumb to triple team Yao before the ball arrives in his hand.

Damn the fools Miami Heats gave up a 12 point lead with 5 minutes to go, and lost to Portland.

Odom lost the game. Missing a few jumpshots in a row for the last few minutes while the Blazers caught up. And then fouled with 0:00 left to hand the win to the Blazers. Didn't get to see the foul though.
