Let's all petition to move the Rockets to the Eastern Conference. That conference is a JOKE.

 

7 or 8th seed is in our range anything lower will not happen, and rox vs nuggs 1st round is impossible

 

and if another first round exit is the best we can do, then why not shot for the lotto?

if we finish out of the playoffs we will get the 13th or 14th pick, but making the playoffs means leap-frogging all of the terrible eastern conference playoff teams and ending with the 18th or 19th pick. IMO, a playoff appearance is not worth moving back 5 picks in the draft.

 

I will bet on the Warriors.....easy win for them....easy money for me~

 

seriously, unless u get a top 3-4 pick, u won't get a franchise player. and when u make the playoffs, u never know.

if we are at our peak during that time, u just never know. the best team in the west (hornets) are not even that much better than us (IF they are).

 

yeah, the key is defense. If we don't allow them score more points than us, we should win this game, right??

 

The Rox I think can get past the 1st round with sum luck and figure it out when the playoffs come, our rotation hasnt had to opportunity to play 2gether with all these injuries, but they have to be more consistent as well. it would also help a lot if we could get rid of Luther & James

I can envision the Rockets sneaking into the playoffs this year. I really don't think it's possible for them to get out of the first round. It's a given that the Rockets will be in the bottom eight. It seems likely that that means a series against SA or NO or Dallas or Phoenix. I just don't see how the Rockets could possibly beat any of those guys.

 

According to the X's and O's of Basketball blog, transition defense is crucial. They recommend sending all 5 players back, instead of going after offensive rebounds.

I'm confident that Rockets can beat any team in NBA EXCEPT Warriors (game vs Warriors has been a nightmare for Rockets since Nilsen was back to Bay Area) unless Yao can be dominant as he's in other games or our bench has a great great great game!

 

Interesting read but I don't buy it. Being cognizant and trying to play ahead of of the offense by sending an extra man or two back on transitition defense is an interesting and helpful suggestion but I hate the idea of underselling the importance of offensive rebounding.

You can't just encourage players to not crash the boards. That's essentially playing defensively while you're on offense. Kind of counterproductive, if you ask me.

I just don't see the Rockets winning unless Yao has a great game. The Rockets have got to punish the Warriors for going small.

The problem is that Yao has never had a great game against the Warriors. They front him, they swarm him, and the Rockets have never been able to figure out how to get him the ball.

 

The keys to win Warriors:
1) Houston must get 10 more offensive rebounds with Yao, Scola, and Landry on the court.
2) Yao has more than 8 offensive rebounds, 13-15 shots, got 30+(depends on Refs.) and more than 4 blks. Or may we expect much contribution from Scola and teamwork.Yao cici should learn Deke's elbow, be a man, instead of a 7'6 lady. When Warriors play big players, beat them down.
3) If finannly it turns out to be a 2-pts game in last minuites, Tmac must take over the game by driving to the basket, never jerk ass jumpers.
4) Never let the guards run into the basket directly.

 

Rocket will win.. This is our home court, if Warrior try to win, just shoot them..
